I went to The Sale Marsland Rd Sale on Sunday 24th August and had the roast dinner. The food was dreadful. Luke warm soggy, chewy vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. The lamb shank was not freshly cooked and reheated. The lady who served us did offer us some drinks but we declined as we already had got drinks. Half the food was left.
Spent a lovely couple of hours at The Golden Fleece in Lymm today. We were given a warm welcome from the manager and his friendly staff. We ordered drinks and two filled ciabattas from the lunch menu, which were delicious and a very reasonable price! The atmosphere was very relaxed and the service excellent. A gorgeous pub with a fabulous beer garden where you can sit overlooking the canal.
Avoid at all costs !!! Worst food out I have ever had ! Have visited The Hollington Oak in st Leonard’s on sea . Firstly rang to book four people for roast . Got there reminded staff that guests were arriving in 15 mins to eat roast . When I went to order I was told one portion of beef left and was not able to order from main menu ! . Leaving a choice of turkey or one choice of a pie . The main meals were absolutely revolting ! . Vegetables were rock hard , roast potatoes were black . The beef was inedible , like chewing the sole of a flip flop . All food was lukewarm warm . No carrot sticks for the kids starter . Sat for 60 mins ( I kid you not ) between courses . Embarrassing as this was supposed to be a birthday celebration. !!! Do not waste your money
Bar staff excellent Giv and Jolene at the Hungry Fox were welcoming, friendly and went above and beyond to make our visit pleasantThese two staff members are not only a credit to the management at the Hungry Fox Hempstead Valley in Gillingham Kent but a credit to the Greene King nameThank you ladies for a pleasant warm welcome I will be back Highly recommend a visit with families
decided to go to the greene king in luton (biscot mill) and i thought we were in for a classic sunday roast, instead we got a plate from a scene of kitchen nightmares. the roasted potatoes looked like they were taken from pompeii. carrots were fine, yorkshire puddings were bit mushy but wow those peas were something else but the worst was the meat. really tough, so chewy i was stuck on 1 piece for 3 minutes and that gravy tasted like melted dirt. there is a first for everything and a last for everything and this is definetly both
We went to Pen and Parchment in Stratford and although we had to leave early as the room was so hot, this could not be avoided it was the hottest day of the year and sleep was impossible, the staff were sympathetic and gave us 2 fans to try to manage the heat, they told us the situation would be reviewed asap and arranged a refund. We also ate in the pub restaurant and had no complaints about the food or service with plenty of dietry needs catered for
THE DEANSGATE, MANCHESTER. Firstly, no criticisms of the bar staff at this venue; the two young ladies tried their best and were as helpful as possible, but having been recommended this pub, it was disappointing to find NO draught real ales for sale, and a promised 40 minute wait for pie and chips, as apparently the pub manager was having to do the cooking alone. Being on a tight time schedule this required some adjustment to get a hot meal here. Apparently the problem was that building work immediately obvious prevented delivery of the ales, (but apparently not the draught lagers !)
Went to lakeside Milton Keynes. Tried three times to order various things off the menu. All unavailable. Only one person serving as the other was looking at something comical on his phone.Went to a family owed Turkish restaurant where they were pleased to see us, did really nice food and everything was available.Back in a few weeks, probably not worth bothering with Greene king
