I can see why 33,800+ reports are poor
A recent attempt to contact customer services to raise a concern about a Major service of my car appeared to have some anomalies of jobs not completed as per their list. Brake fluid, "budget winter tyre fitted" mid July! and at a premium price too! Granted this examination of the last service bill was over 12 months ago but am about to rebook this years service.
With Trust broken I thought it was would "speak" to someone first to see I was even justified in raising a complaint... Guess what "No Chance" , Called the branch 20 minutes to answer and then they hung up almost immediately before I could speak, a ChatBot that refused to chat unless you wanted to buy something and no recognition of words like Live Agent or complaint. And eventually an apparent 5 day delay in someone resolving my query without even knowing what it was
about. A neat trick! Not! All in the face of Halfords voice messaging saying ...."We're Here To Help". - Really!

Bought a BMX for my son at Christmas and paid the extra £10 for them to build it thinking that it would be done right. There was an issue with the back brake so took it back and it was the wheels fault because it was plastic rim so could have a little buckle but I said it was meant to be new so should be perfect but that’s the way it comes, then it was the brakes that needed adjusting but that was £20 because the bike had been riden. I said that it should last longer than 2 months when it was new. Everything to get out of sorting their mess and charging for the pleasure. So the bike is now with a proper cyclist repair guy. I’ll pay him and know then it’s fixed properly.

Bike was bought and build in Chester (Greyhound) and taken back to Wrexham. Won’t be going back to Halfords again!

Halfords Cramlington.
Got email in 4th Dec 2025 to say “good news your bike is here and being built”. My appointment was at 10:00 28th Dec. Showed up at 10:00 but store was late opening, then another 10mins to be seen as computers weren’t booted up, then wait a bit more to be told the bike wasn’t in the store! Apparently ‘he’ is on his way to another store to find one and bring it in! And ‘he’ tried to call me. No ‘he’ didn’t. They had correct number but no one attempted to call me at any point between 4th and 28th.
I had to leave and wait for a callback. 2hrs later I called them but no one answered. Then 40mins later they called to say it was finally built. I went in. No apologies. The young men hardly made eye contact. Mumbled info.
To say I’m astounded this is classed as customer service doesn’t really cover it.
I’m writing this review again (already submitted one via another platform) because there were missing pedal reflectors, and my son has used his bike a total of 4 times since (due to weather) and we’ve had to tighten the seat, and move the handlebars significantly as these were also not tightened properly. I really do not recommend.

I had an mot and major service on my car. This was the first and LAST time that I will ever use Halfords Service Centres. I am totally appalled.

Due to critical date issues I booked a service and MOT bundle one month in advance at Halfords Autocentre in Bath. The day before the Service\MOT I was contacted by Halfords. They told me that they were unable to do the MOT but they would arrange for the MOT to be carried out at another Halfords MOT Centre and that this would be sorted out on the day of the service. When I turned up the attitude was go sort it out yourself. As such I ended up paying for a Service and MOT but I only received a Service. I also had to pay (again) a premium in order to get an MOT done at short notice. This has caused me serious, major inconvenience.
One would expect a refund for the absent MOT but they seemed unable to resolve this.

I had new brake pads fitted on the 17/1/26, on the 17/2/26 my brakes failed whilst I was driving the vehicle, resulting in me being involved in serious incident.

I had to call out emergency roadside recovery. They discovered the brakes had been left loose when they were fitted. My new pad, piston and caliper had fallen off the vehicle whilst I was driving.

Halfords recovered the vehicle from my drive after I had presented the RAC recovery report. I was left with no courtesy car that they promised, no communication as to what was happening with my car. The customer service was shocking and I was made to feel like I had done something wrong.

On the 20/2/26 their regional manager Sam called me to say it had been repaired, and that the systems they have in place to ensure something like this never happens failed. They have photos of my job with the brakes loose and being sent out on the road.

Halford had a duty of care to ensure my car was safe and road worthy. They breached that duty, endangering my, my families, other road users and the general publics life everytime the vehicle was used.

Halfords are guilty of bad workmanship and negligence.

Halfords in store is bearable , but the website is utter dog you know what. Halfords you really need to sort the site out it’s awful. Search bar is terrible the way you put the reg in then it looses it and logs you out. No wonder people give up. How a trades person is meant to get anything on there orders fast is beyond me.

Booked and prepaidfor wheel alignment and balancing at Halfords Autocentre Ayr - Confirmation received. Payment taken. Travelled specifically for it.
On arrival I was told the work couldn’t be done because the ramp is used for MOTs in the morning they have priority?
and that the booking “would never have been possible” at that time.
So why was the slot available online? Why was I allowed to pay?
This is a complete failure between the garage and the online booking system. It wasted my time, fuel, and disrupted my day.
To make it worse, there’s no proper customer service email anymore, you’re forced through chatbots and AI just to raise a complaint, and you’re then told it can take up to 7 working days just to acknowledge it.
Very poor organisation and even worse customer service. I’ll be looking elsewhere for future work. I would suggest you do the same. There are independent garages run by real people In Your community. I will be using them in future.

My son bought a bike at the scunthorpe store just after xmas.Last night it developed a major fault with the hub ,took it back to the store to be told there's only a month's warranty on parts they then proceeded to price the repair up after threatening trading standars and quoting the sales of goods act they decided to do the repair as a GOOD WILL GESTURE the cocky bike technician then said look at the dirt on the bike no wonder its broke (BLAMING MY SON)
DO NOT BUY A BIKE FROM THESE U WILL REGRET IT THE AFTER SERVICE IS ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING AVOID AVOID AVOID
