Used X5 issues

We bought a used X5 recently which had to go into the dealer after it’s first 100 mile+ run ended with a failed EGR cooler and a low coolant warning. A week later the car had to go back in for a gearbox issue which is still unresolved. VERY disappointing,

Truly awful Halliwell Jones

On a par with Redrow for having the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They should be shut down, simple as that. Sold us an awful 520d touring, problem after problem and they couldn't care less. Sold us the car when it was on a recall for being a fire hazard but didn't mention that when we were stood there with our 1 year old and my partner ready to give birth to our second any day. We've been told lie after lie. You expect BMW to be expensive but I've literally had them try and sell me tyres that are double the price of the same tyre from ATS. They are completely incompetent when it comes to repairing the car. They couldn't diagnose issues after having the car for weeks that other garages have figured out in minutes. When fixing a problem we've had them damage the paint work.....and then deny any responsibility. The list is endless for issues we've had with them. As others have said, they do not care, they will not put anything right, once they have your money you won't see them for dust. If you want a BMW and Halliwell Jones Chester are your closest dealer......just don't even think about going there. Travel to another dealership that will value your custom. We all know that things go wrong but when they do, believe me, you don't want to have to phone up Halliwell Jones.

Bought a 340d and within 11 days of…

Bought a 340d and within 11 days of owning the car it broke in Stockton and bmw assist had to recover the car to local dealer. Since having the car back the alarm has been going off at night randomly so I informed Peter moorhouse I would like him to swop the car for a like for like or I’m rejecting it. (This is all within the first 30 days of ownership) His reply was his manager would only look to swop the car or refund it if the car had a major problem with the engine etc and just fobbed me off. This man comes over very nice and nothing is too much trouble when he’s taking your money but when something go’s wrong he not want to know so be warned! It’s the law within 30 days halliwell Jones has to do as I’ve requested. So if they want to run up a legal bill before they decide they have to accept rejection as I now won’t deal with them for another car and the offer to swop the car is no longer an option well so be it.

Very pleasant experience

Bought a mini from warrington after having run jags for the last 15 year's wanted to downsize and found it not for me decided to try a bmw so contacted Chester with a view to buying a 420i grand coupe mat did a fantastic job and made me and the wife feel very welcome and thanks to the rest of the team that looked after us

awful customer service

i bought a new 3 series a few years back, as ever was sold numerous add ons. but when you try to use them (service pack in this instance) HJ find a way not to honour them. the paintwork insurance they also sold me was a nightmare too - but that's a different story. my advice would be not to buy ANY add ons and be wary of their 'slick' sales people. only interested in their commission, not customers. no interest in resolving my complaint Mr Green.

I just want to add a little review as Theo has really looked after me..nothing was too much trouble...he always made the time and effort to put the C in Customer Service and is a great asset to Halliwell Jones Two Mills on Parkgate, Chester.. he goes that extra mile.. if you want a new/used mini from this garage make sure you book an appointment with Theo.

Bought a 1 series in may 2019 first…

Bought a 1 series in may 2019 first issue with the car was just 4 months after purchase. This car has been back into haliwell Jones more times than I can remember with numerous issues. And each issue ‘cannot be found’ according to haliwell Jones. The customer service is absolutely appalling! They are happy enough taking thousands of pounds off you when purchasing the vehicle but don’t want to know when it comes to any issues with the vehicle. Very disappointing and has put me off EVER purchasing a bmw again! My first and definitely the last. I’ve explained that the vehicle is not safe for me to drive and I’m being pushed into a corner to collect the vehicle when it is not safe. Do your research before purchasing from this company!!

Halliwell Jones Chester will always…

Halliwell Jones Chester will always have this poor attitude as they are in an affluent area and think they don’t have to try hard. I have had appalling service over the last 12 years starting with my 325d, then my Dad’s Z4, gave them the benefit of the doubt when looking to buy an X1 for my wife but sales team all in a meeting - come back in 2 hrs, we did & still no one, so we went to Williams BMW Liverpool and now I buy any BMW and service it there where they value your custom, or better still Rybrook Volvo Chester when we replaced the X1 for an XC60.

Putting a car in for service when you…

Putting a car in for service when you don't live locally can be a real pain. Not this time with Halliwell JonesFast, efficient, professional service. Offered a mini courtesy car which made me smile and reduced the stress level to zero.All aspects of service first class.Super safe environment with exceptional front of house staff.Thank you too all at Halliwell Jones service team on 7th and 8th May 2021.

Disgusting …

Told I need service- last one included in my 5 year plan. Turn up and told not included. Call manager, apologies and will make it up to me by fixing the boot which they should have fixed previously. Then told vehicle ready. Told manager not had boot fixed yet and he’ll call me. Not been serviced. Told to find car in car park, not there. Told there was a miscommunication and car is in another car park. Open car and plastic everywhere, Covid plastic I have to remove myself which defeats objective. Very unsustainable how much plastic there is. Manager never called me.
