I don't like to deal with any company that is NOT HONEST or TRANSPARENT. Health Partners gave us a reduction in premiums for a short period of time (3 months) but have saved Millions of $'s by members NOT being able to access their benefits with Extras and Hospital cover due to Covid. The discount period was much shorter than the actual Covid bans when we couldn't use our benefits. It is documented in a report to the Federal government how much of a boom COVID has been to Private Health companies like Health Partners, as they still gathered membership fees on items I couldn't access.(Unless an Emergency) In all emails and updates they kept spouting their mantra "improve affordability and support our members". They have done NOTHING to support me or improve affordability. NOTHING. Health Partners were charging me fees for a product I COULD NOT ACCESS.I contacted them with very specific questions and received only generic fluff.They offer new customers a $300 E gift card up to June 30 and now offer 6 weeks free on Hospital and Extras.Both offers are more than they gave current members with their so called premium discounts.Not a company that is transparent or accountable.
After more than 21 years of continuous membership with Health Partners they removed my daughter from our policy on her 21st birthday. Admittedly I had missed an email and a text (sent on different days) requesting information, but I had also spoken with them earlier this year letting them know that she was a full time student. I would have thought that, all things considered, a reminder notice or follow up phone call/text/email would not have been too much to ask before removing her from the policy. I could forgive this if when I rang they had just added her back onto the policy, but I was told I would have to fill out forms and that there would be a break in her cover from her birthday until the forms were received. I consider this to be extremely poor service for such a long standing member!
The customer service team that I have dealt with have been fantastic. This year I did change to a new fund who rang me and gave me their sales speed however I called them back the next day as I had query and the female who answered was obviously working from home and had a crying child in her arms....needless to say I cancelled that fund and immediately rang Health Partners and spoke to a lovely lady who was most helpful and renewed my membership. Yeah
Recently my Podiatrist made me a new pair of orthotics and when I paid at the desk I only received 1/2 the money I was entitled to for the year. Whilst visiting my Dentist I spoke with a Health Partners employee and to my delight although not even her Department she investigated. My Podiatrist had unknowingly not entered the correct codes Health Partners required in order to pay me the full benefit. She kept me updated by text until the third one informed me the balance of my claim would be in my account shortly. I have been with this company over 25 years and have always been extremely happy with any service under my extras claims or on Hospital related stays, which is why I rate Health Partners 5 stars. Recently I realised that I had not changed my policy since my husband passed away 18 months ago. I was in the city so went into the member services area and spoke to Sammi. She was amazingly respectful and caring. She was able to setup my new payments straight away. She wasn’t able to get a response on the spot about whether or not I would receive a refund for the excess payments but promised to call me. When she had the answer Sammi called me straight back and let me know what I needed to do to finalise it. Health partners agreed to backdate the revised premiums and have held my payments until September to allow for the credit against my account. It was simple and easy and I felt cared about.
