Heimstaden Hooper Street Birmingham Worst landlord I’ve ever had in my life. Absolutely nothing works. Customer service is absolutely shocking. Thieving very common. Refuse to show tenants CCTV. Staff in office arrogant and clueless. Online portal is dreadful, technicians nowhere to be seen. Truly awful
Just terrible company, absolutely 0 respect towards their tenants.We had our fridge broken for half a year and they were completely ignoring our calls, emails and mails during that time. Luckily after 6 month they have finally managed to fix it recently.They advertise their customer portal where you are supposed to create tickets if there are any problems in your apartment or you have any inquires. But it's just useless when you actually have a problem and want them to fix it, they just ignore this portal. It doesn't make any sense.We still have 2 out of 3 radiators broken in our apartment since 2 months already and it's middle of the Winter when it's -8 outside. They just don't care, keep ignoring our tickets on their portal and even after a phone call still no changes from their side.They only keep raising the price every year but what about compensation for non working stuff?
This is honestly the worst landlord I have ever experienced in my life. Service is horrible, rents astronomical for what you get, house decaying, and despite the "cleaning" that Heimstaden supposedly provide for thousands of euros every year, the inner yard still looks like a constant garbage dump and there are never enough garbage bins in relation to what is needed. Now they apparently have a "Service portal" where you can submit tickets for issues in your house that need to be fixed, but whenever you submit a ticket, they just close it without fixing the problem, and that is that! Fantastic! :') The level of incompetence in this company is astounding. Don't believe the nice pictures and fancy words on their homepage, they are truly terrible as landlords.
Signed a contract with them and while the letting manager was nice I have to admit that contacting support has been an awful experience, a nightmare.We have not been able to move due to critical aspects of the appartments that need attention (broken locks, broken ringbell and termite signs among many others) but after 4 contacts they are just ignoring us. We are feeling hopeless and lost about what to do next.We are already paying full rent and we aren't able to move as they refuse to assist us. However, we already cancelled our other appartment and will need to move even if there are damages.Very disappointing. Makes me wonder if I should have signed a contract in the first place and what it will look like in the future for us.EDIT:I am including the latest ticket number I have: Eingangsbestätigung [#0001563722]
We have been trying to contact them for more than a year, phonecalls, emails, registered letters and they just do not answer to any of it, it is so frustrating and we do not know what to do anymore, and yes we wrote to them in German. We pay a lot of rent to them and get no service, disgusting property management.
Absolutely catastrophic service. If you have a misfortune of renting from them you better get a lawyer. It really is impossible to get anything repaired: calls, email, begging nothing works.PS: They post this canned response under every negative review, but then nobody contacts you and no action is taken whatsoever. Don't ever trust them.
2 years ago, I had the misfortune that my building here in Berlin was sold to Heimstaden. Since then, there has been a collection of horrible side effects making it worse and worse to live here.The building and courtyard are disgusting. There’s broken glass, trash, emptied ashtrays and discarded food from the restaurants lying around. There’s also the trash from work done on the restaurants and other random items left by homeless people, in the courtyard and lobby of the building.The front door can be easily pushed open without a key and the back door doesn’t close, so there are often homeless people inside for a couple days with pee and poop. Heimstaden has reduced the cleaning from 1x/week to 1x/6-8 weeks so the building gets really disgusting.The basement/Keller is completely infested with rats, especially as the restaurants on the ground floor continue to feed them. Everything stored there is covered in rat poop and pee and will have to be disposed of at my expense.The running water has problems and often slows down to a trickle or doesn’t run at all.The rent has increased 50% in two years, even though the cleaning and maintenance services barely exist any more, if at all. Further the restaurants’ dump all their trash in the courtyard and the tenants have to share the costs for this garbage removal. Contacting Heimstaden about these problems, cleaning, water, homeless, security, costs, rats, has absolutely no effect. They are nice on the phone, say they will do something, or they will pass the message to the right person and nothing happens.Truly unfortunate that after living here for ten years it’s time to look for another apartment because the management is absolutely terrible. I hope someone reads this before they move into a Heimstaden building and choose not to.
