Dishonest and Unreliable

If you're considering renting from this company, look elsewhere. Issues take ages to resolve; a lack of hot water isn't treated as an emergency, and they show no concern for property conditions. After my contract ended, we were assured everything was fine, yet nine months later, I’m still waiting for my deposit. Emails to customer service go unanswered, and it’s frustrating to have to chase down my own money. This experience has been incredibly disappointing, and I will likely need legal assistance to recover my funds.

Greedy and Incompetent

This company shows no regard for their tenants. It took them six months to fix a front door that wouldn’t close, putting residents at risk. Meanwhile, they quickly replaced shower heads to save on water costs, leaving us with weak, cold showers in winter. A disgraceful company.

It's a disaster

It's a disaster. We moved into the apartment a month ago and immediately noticed that one of the heaters is just not connected to the heating system or the wall for that matter. It looks like an unfinished renovation job. We let them know immediately as it is winter!!! However, after a month there has not been a single action from their side, nothing! We called multiple times and sent e-mails, and we are always getting a response that the 3rd party company will contact us. They need to prioritize it, as it is below 10 degrees in our bedroom and the humidity is out of hand. What's more, the fire alarms have been broken since the beginning but also no action taken FOR A MONTH to exchange fire alarms, which takes a few minutes. The flat is not a safe place to live in. Terrible!!!

Constantly Breaking the Law

They consistently violate regulations. Deposits are supposed to be returned within six months, yet it’s been seven months with no response to any of my inquiries. This is unacceptable.

non-existant service, still no deposit back

It's essentially impossible to get an answer from the service. They ignore e-mails and messages and calling requires a 20-30 minutes wait just to be told that they'll "do something" and nothing happens.The whole process of moving out and trying to sublet was a pain, they replied to one of the requests about FIVE MONTHS after I sent it, when I had already moved out.Currently I'm waiting for my deposit back, 6 months after I moved out, still no reply (or money) whatsoever.Truly a joke, they don't even try to look like they care.

After six months, they have not paid back my security deposit despite my contacting them several tim

I moved out of my Heimstaden owned and operated apartment in Berlin in March, with the contract ending March 31st. I always paid my rent and additional costs when living there and owe them no money. The Heimstaden employee who took the keys told me everything looks great and that I should expect to get my full security deposit back. It has now been over six months and over the past three months I have called them on multiple occasions to ask where my security deposit is and they always tell me it will arrive soon. It seems to me they are engaging in shady business practices, and hoping that I forget or am hit by a bus before I collect my deposit.Update: despite Heimstaden replying to my review here, I still haven't received my security deposit back. WHERE IS MY DEPOSIT???

The expirience with this company has been a nightmare

The expirience with this company has been very bad, I left my flat more that 6 months and I am still waiting for my security deposit to be returned. By law, they have 6 months, but its been 7 months already and they have not returned it yet. I have sent several emails and no answers from them. So, if you are thinking to get a flat with them, take into consideration this topic. They are not a trusted company.

Terrible experience, slow response rate, continuous rent increase

For months, our entire street, including our apartment, was plagued by mice. Despite repeated calls for help, the landlord only sent someone to place poison, which did nothing to solve the problem. We had to seal the gaps between the walls and floor ourselves. It took nearly eight months for them to finally send someone to properly fix the issue.On top of that, we received a rent increase of over 10% in the first quarter of the year, followed by another almost 14% increase just this week. Is this even legal?The building's facade has also been covered in graffiti for the past two years, and the landlord has done nothing to clean it up. It feels like we're living in a rundown area now. This company is an absolute nightmare.

Heimstaden is a Nightmare - Zero Accountability and Zero Communication

I've been stuck in a nightmare with Heimstaden for nearly a year. Legionella-contaminated water, a broken elevator, and a kitchen extractor fan that’s been dead for months—Heimstaden couldn't care less. They’ve ignored countless emails, tickets, and calls, and had the nerve to mark the elevator issue as "resolved" when it’s still broken. This company’s utter lack of communication and blatant disregard for tenant health and safety is beyond infuriating. Steer clear if you value your sanity.Edit:Thanks for the reply, though it seems as generic as your response to my actual issues. Maybe if you focused on solving the MANY emails and tickets I've sent—still ignored, by the way—you'd have less need for public apologies. How about actually addressing the problems instead of just talking about it? :)

Expect an extra bill after leaving

After leaving an apartment in good condition ( the apartment showed signs of usage over the past four years that we lived in it) but overall it was in good shape. We were greeted with an extra bill of 52.000 dkk. Completely unreasonable. Stay away from them if you can.
