Very bad comms. 1 month before renewal i got an email into junk "sorry we can't renew, goodbye" thatd it, gone, normally you have to fight to lose an insurer but Prima...easy they just dump you..very odd, no reason, no change in circumstance, nothing...just "see ya"?!?!
After a couple of years with rising premiums, it was time to look around. I’m a driver with many advanced qualifications and experience, so wondered if my age of 70 was becoming a factor in the renewal premium I’ve just received. So it was time to search for a better deal. Prima came up on the comparison site and seems to cover what I wanted. It also gave me a significant reduction in breakdown cover which I’m also about to renew. All in all Prima saved me over £200 and has a helpline which is not always available. I’m happy with this new venture.
I had to chase multiple times for my policy documents, which were issued with incorrect and incomplete information. Although I informed the insurer quickly and asked for corrections, the problems were not adequately resolved. Instead, I ended up facing a premium hike and the risk of policy cancellation. The customer support was lacking, my messages were mostly overlooked, and accountability was absent. Given this experience, I cannot recommend this provider.
I received a quote through a comparison service that looked great and included everything I needed from my insurance policy. It only took seconds to answer a few questions on the website, and the policy was completed and purchased swiftly. The process was very efficient, with no unnecessary information to input. Outstanding!
Fantastic value on the comparison platform and incredibly straightforward to set up the insurance. HOWEVER... if you choose to pay over 11 months and have to deal with their partners, the hassle of entering details multiple times, verifying my identity twice, and the code to my phone that never arrived (twice) was quite stressful. Had I known, I would have opted for the upfront payment. A better system is definitely needed with the partners.
I took out my car insurance last month, and today I received an email stating that my insurance is cancelled. The first email indicated cancellation from the 15th, and I got this at 5:59 PM, which means I've been driving without insurance today. Thank you for that. The next email stated my insurance is cancelled from the 16th (tomorrow), which I received shortly after the first one. They claimed I haven't answered their calls and provided my license details. However, I haven't received any calls, emails, or texts, and this is the first time any insurance company has tried to contact me in 20 years. They are refunding me £330, but I have to wait 10 days, which means I need to find more money for another year's insurance. It's only Christmas time, and I've asked Santa for £500, so hopefully, I'll be fine.
In essence, I've paid £150 for a month of insurance. It's just another way to make money. Additionally, I need to purchase a day's insurance at a cost of £30 until I can resolve this issue. Again, thanks for that. I hope you'll compensate me for this. I'll call tomorrow to try and sort this out, but if not, it feels like I'm being ripped off, and I will share my experience widely. Seriously, please address this.
We signed up for a new car insurance policy with this company, choosing to pay monthly. Right away, we received an email stating that a commission would be paid to a third party, but we could change our payment method if we wanted. After consulting with a consumer advice service, we learned we had a 14-day cooling-off period without penalties. However, the company insisted we cancel our policy and take out a new one, imposing a £30 fee. We ended up paying £47 but only received a £9 refund. What happened to the cooling-off period? It seems they prioritize profit over legal obligations. My recommendation is to avoid this company; they are not trustworthy.
We purchased a new car insurance policy with this service. We chose monthly payments but soon received a notification from the company about a commission payment. Although we were informed about a 14-day cooling-off period, they insisted on canceling the policy and taking a £30 fee. We ended up paying £47 but were refunded only £9. The cooling-off period seemed ignored as they were more focused on taking our money. Clearly, a group that does not follow legal standards. My recommendation - avoid this service, they are untrustworthy.
