Wickes solar Planning approval is not normally required for solar panels as it permitted development. However what we did not find out for the best part of 6 months was the church that is 200 meters away from us has a preservation order on it, along with the bridge which 300 meters away also has a preservation order. It was not until we're 5 months in an I asked the planning office in south Derbyshire point blank why the kept changing the rules. From no charge to £550.00 and full planning form's to be complete and approved. During the whole time Wickes Solar didn't hassle they just stayed calm and said as soon as I had any news to keep them updated, which I did.It was as if SDDC didn't have a clue what they were doing. Typical examples were with full planning permission you have to notify neighbours and post on local notice board, they forgot, so it got delayed for another 4 weeks.
The whole process involving our solar panel installation was excellent. From the Vale of Glamorgan initiative of a competitive tender to the contractor selection process, through the survey, installation and post installation technical support. From the point of view of the customer, every element was carried out professionally.
Being apprehensive about the whole procedure of having a heat pump fitted & having negative comments from friends& family . Having no gas & only having expensive convector heaters, I looked in to the way heat pumps work. I had 3 quotes & after speaking to Oliver , who also spoke to my son , I decided to go ahead. Best thing I’ve ever did. Scot came out to inspect my property . Between them they planned how to go about it. They had excellent workers James & Jake who worked hard & cleaned up as they accomplished the installation . I am so pleased with the results . I have a lovely warm home & hot water , with running costs a lot cheaper . I would highly recommend Infinity heat pumps to my friends & family.
Having spent time reviewing solar panel and battery installation I became aware that having an organisation like HIES behind the company I chose to do the work was important to me for the piece of mind they offered in an area I had no experience of. Whilst I never needed to contact HIES it was I did have the comfort of knowing that they had vetted my installer and that they were prepared to guarantee their work
