The Aktiia bracelet worked for a few days then would not connect to my phone. That was over 3 weeks ago and despite numerous e mails back and forth there has been absolutely no resolution and they have not been in contact for over 5 days despite saying they need 3 days to respond. Absolutely useless after service and they don’t seem to care. Interesting that they need 3 days to respond as they are so busy dealing with issues. Do not buy !!!!
Buying was easy. Product working as advertising. Haven't needed customer services or tech support so cant comment on that. The bracelet is comfortable and battery life is 1-2 weeks. The bracelet has a fiddly watch strap style clasp and would benefit from a more modern apple watch style nylon loop. The app is OK but absolutely needs integration with apple health because the aktiia cant see workouts (after which BP might be elevated) or wake/sleep data, location etc. Might it be there is some deep ML could be applied to find trends where and when your BP is high based on lifestyle and environmental factors?Graphing is limited to day, week, month views. Its not possible to define a custom range. The very useful trend of "you spent x% of time within range" is only available intra-day, not for a week or month. The colour ranges given appear not to take age into account - ie they are absolute. So if you're older your BP might be reported as elevated even though its totally normal for your age.It can produce a nice detailed PDF report to give to your doctor. Whether they'll accept data from a "new-fangled" device might vary! So, in summary it's comfortable and works. It will tell you what your average BP was over a day, week or month but beyond that you'll have to figure anything else for yourself.UPDATE 31-May-2023New version of the app addresses many of the niggles above just leaving apple Health integration. Only thing is since recalibrating, my levels have dropped from orange back to green. Recalibrated a couple of times to confirm. So it would appear the first month of readings might have all been wrong.
After a while I didn’t notice I am wearing the bracelet and it is providing useful information in understanding my blood pressure. Providing averages throughout the day and night I need not worry about individual readings.I have noticed some marked differences between measurements taken at the cuff and bracket. The Aktiia support team have been responsive and are investigating this for me.
I've had the device for a couple of months . If I can believe the readings then it is an extremely useful health checker. Software is very good too. Only criticism is that you cannot tell the aktiia to take a measurement when you want and the big one is that it isn't waterproof . It's so easy to forget to take it off in the shower
Having been diagnosed with symptomless Isolated Systolic Hypertension I was tasked with taking my blood pressure twice a day which was exceedingly painful. I started looking for other solutions and found Aktiia. I set it up and started using it, validating the results against a morning use of the nhs cuff the GP had given me. After a week I could see a close correlation between the two and when I explained the Aktiia kit to my GP she was happy enough for me to continue using it. The fact that it takes readings throughout the night is great too.
