I adore this amazing clinically validated device! It’s so simple to use, plus it meets the ISO81060-2 standard, has been supported by five clinical trials and is medically validated for its accuracy. It is the only European (& UK) 24/7 wearable, medically approved device on the market with on demand (via the free App) instantly generated pdf blood pressure reports for you and your doctor! It’s a no brainer when monitoring and controlling your blood pressure. The only negative is that wristband is not currently waterproof, therefore you have to temporarily remove the wristband before showering/swimming, but I understand that a waterproof version of the wristband is currently in development, for release in a couple of years time, which I will absolutely be upgrading to upon availability! If you and/or your doctor have any concerns about your blood pressure, this is, I genuinely believe, the only perfect solution to your issue! I love it!
Customer services for Aktiia are excellent and I would have been inclined to give the product 4/5 stars because its light and easy to wear and the associated app is very good; however, for me, the sensor is just not consistent in its measurements and far too many measurements are either not undertaken or logged during the day, leaving gaping holes in the daytime BP record. Night time measurements don't seem to be effected in the same way and do seem to be consistent; but, it's more important for me to see a consistent day time BP record and unfortunately it's just not there.
I am extremely disappointed to have to write this negative review as I had really high hopes for the blood pressure monitor from this company. However, please be aware, their return policy is extremely tight and their customer service seems virtually non-existent so if you don't get on with the monitor, it is a lot of money to potentially not get back.I did my research, understood the return period was only 14 days so did as much as could to test it in that period. By day 6 (23rd June 2023) I had decided it wasn't going to work for me (reasons below) and contacted them to request a return/refund. I have not received a response. I have chased by email and through PayPal and have now had to raise a complaint through PayPal to try and get my money back.My reasons for returnInaccurate - the bracelet was initially 20 points higher than my cuff. I reinitialised it several times and it came down to around 10 points higher.Zero customer care - I asked a question about personalising my reports. I had to wait 3 days for a response and I got a stock answer that was absolutely nothing to do with my question. Plus, all this obvs!Bracelet is not waterproof and I wash my hands a lot so this bothered meBracelet has to be worn very tightly to be effective. I could not get used to it at all.All in all, loved the concept, believed the science but it just didn't work out. Had the return policy been more generous and the bracelet not so expensive I may have been able to experiment a little more.
The device was easy to set up, pair with my iPhone and download the results. They demonstrated that my current blood pressure medication was doing its job and should not be increased. My cuff machine almost invariably gave higher readings. Both my cardiologist and I have full confidence in Akita.
Got Aktiia as a gift (Well, I asked for it) as I love tracking my biomarkers.While the design is nice and the measurements are mostly accurate I must say it is a bit dissapointing for a couple of reasons:- It's not water resistant - I have to take it off when I shower and when it rains- It does not offer measurment on demand - You need to hope that it takes a measure in the range of two hours time frames.- I have to choose between my Samsung Watch and my Aktiia. While Samsung watch gives me tons of insights, if I choose Aktiia I will only get my blood pressure, and even that will happen from time to timeBoth the Samsung Watch and Aktiia are based on the same methodolgy for measuring the blood pressure, and while the promise of it is huge and the design is nice, it is not worth the £200
