Its a great idea and works moderately well. Here are the downsides:- the wrist device takes a variable number of readings per 24 hours; very often there are gaps in the data set for reasons that are unclear. This is really annoying given that the whole point of the device is to understand what BP control is like throughout the 24hr period. Some days I will get 5 readings and other days 11 readings. I have never yet got a reading for every 2 hour period. Even resting quietly in bed at night there are data 'holes'.- it is not possible to tell the device to take a reading when you are sitting quietly ie can not be user activated; this is a big disadvantage given that there are data gaps as mentioned above. All in all needs some improvement for 200 quid !
Useless, dreadful customer service with one no reply email address. Faulty unreliable product. No phone number or address. This company is seriously dodgy and should be investigated. My product was faulty. After persisting with several emails, and contacting the billing department, i finally got a response. No ticket number received-so impossible to link with previous emails. Finally got product return label and posted back then received an email asking why i had not responded. No sign of acknowledgement of receipt of goods. No sign or refund. Response to previous comments by Aktiia on trust pilot were not helpful Seriously dissatisfied and recommend you do not buy this product.
Aktiia is extremely useful and gives good insights, some unexpected such as the correlation between blood pressure and being too warm at night. My Aktiia seems to read a tiny bit higher than my Omron and Withings monitors but I just make a mental adjustment. It’s possible I’m not yet calibrating it quite right so time will tell. The battery life is EPIC, well over a week and it charges up in no time - only a few minutes. I’d like a better strap and have been looking to see if there’s any narrow hook and loop I could use. I’d recommend to Aktiia to make the next generation waterproof so you could keep it on when showering etc.
I did not understand this bracelet & system is unsuitable for those under 21 or over 65 years until I had received it and read the manual. Had I known I would not have purchased. I emailed my sentiments and wanted to return it, - but no reply. I think this information should be front and central in all promotional material and not hiding in the small print because hypertension is age related. Beware and be warned of such poor ethical standards.
