My aktiia device worked great and helped me monitor blood pressure - until it stopped transmitting data to the app after ~1 month in use. No solution since, customer support unresponsive after initially trying to help.Problem description: - The app showed that the device had synced, as before, the device sat on my arm, as before, the device emitted the green light from its optical sensor, as before. I recalibrated, removed and re-added the device in the app, fully charged the device, tried different positions on my arm, still no data was transmitted. - Contacted customer support. Support asked for details and tried to help, but did not get to the bottom of the problem - then stopped responding. After ~1-2 weeks, I was contacted again and asked to update the app to latest release, which I did - no change to the problem. Again, no response from customer support until today. No offer to send in the device for repair or replacement.Summary: aktiia was initially working well and convenient for about 1 month, but it has been 2 months now with a device that does not transmit any data. I would not recommend aktiia to monitor your blood pressure. I went back to the common, reliable method.
Unusable and extremely complicated to use. The readings were completely incorrect. I took it to my GP who concurred not only were the reading wrong (and I followed instructions correctly) but it was a complete waste of money. I shall not even give it to OXFAM for fear that someone will get all the wrong info once they read the instructions. I should get my money back.
Concept is decent, the product is terrible. Who makes a 24-hour wearable device that isn't waterproof. I mean seriously... the entire concept is that you wear it. Then when it gets wet, it totally stops working and customer services are abysmal. I even offered to buy just another wrist module - after all I didn't need another cuff for my arm, nor did I need to pay for the software again... but this 'throw a six to start' company can't sell the wrist module on its own, just the entire kit again. I was left with a £200 piece of junk... went in the bin after a week.
Brilliant bit of kit for those of us who have high blood pressure. I wear mine for a week every month to check my meds are still working. It is easy to use, and unobtrusive. SO much better than a traditional cuff machine, which gave me white coat syndrome every time I used it.
