I wanted this product to work but unfortunately it didn't work for me. Initially the bracelet did pick up readings from my wrist but then failed to get regular results. I'm not sure if this was down to my skin type or an issue with the bracelet itself. In any event Aktiia refunded me without any problems.
I am a little disappointed with the product. It doesn’t take readings when you are asleep or when you are moving, so that doesn’t leave many opportunities for it to take a reading. I will continue to use it to get a couple of readings a day.
Diagnosed with “mild hypertension” approx’ 1 year ago and a retired nurse with over 35 years clinical experience I was excited to try the Aktiia system and have been using daily since purchase. I am diligent in my calibration of the system. I have found the system to produce results that are dangerously innacurate and simply cannot be relied on! Both Systolic and Diastolic measurements constantly differed from recordings obtained using personal digital sphygmomanometers (accuracy regularly compared to hospital grade machines). In short neither the cuff nor the bracelet produced recordings that I could rely on. I reached out to Aktiia customer services some time ago - alerting them to my concerns however, they failed to respond to my email. As an experienced medical professional I regret that I simply could not recommend this device !The views I have expressed here are my honest assessment of the Aktiia Lightweight Blood Pressure Bracelet & Cuff purchased late 2022
I like the tracking but my bracelet has been sporadic at times. The fact I have to take it off eveytime I have a shower is disappointing. It also disrupts the recording. I would have thought the bracelet would have a degree of shower proofness in todays world of robust sports wearables. Only issue really. Otherwise great to monitor my rising BP.
Great piece of technology, easy to set up and use. Gives frequent readings throughout the day, and generates a weekly report. Only downside is the watch strap has irritated my skin causing a burn mark due to irritation, would be helpful if they sold fabric wrist straps for those who can’t wear rubber/silicone straps.
Consistently over-reported my BP levels (by 30-40 mmHg). Doctor advised to stick with the traditional arm band style machine for accurate results. Disappointing and frustrating as the marketing blurb did paint a picture of this being a game changer. Interestingly even the Aktiia armband measurement disagrees with the wristband!
