Review Time
As my Dyson was on its last legs and for a few reasons I didn't want another one, I did a bit of research and decided upon the HL5 PET. I ordered it on a Sunday afternoon and it arrived first thing on the Tuesday (so in effect next working day). I was really very pleasantly surprised with this corded upright.If you are after good suction then this certainly ticks the box. You can choose your suction setting and I found that the high setting was a bit too powerful for my wool rugs but great on every other hard surface. When using the wand I found the high setting to be perfect. It arrived in three sections which was great as you immediately have to learn how they slot together, which was extremely simple and I didn't even need to check the Instruction leaflet. It looks to be of sturdy construction and yet fairly lightweight making it easy to carry when say doing the stairs. One thing that I found really impressive was that to use the wand you remove the entire upright section (above the filter), which again makes it easy to carry when doing the stairs. The wand and hose are so simple to remove leaving the main section standing at only about 20" tall meaning it comfortably fits in a low cupboard I have.The dust bin has a good capacity and is easy to remove and empty.I was so pleased with this Hoover that I immediately ordered the Upright Home Kit which arrived the very next day, and again I was extremely pleased with it. The long wand makes cleaning under the beds and the wardrobe tops a real doddle (use high setting); the brush attachment is a great size and works wonders on the sofas and curtains. The Kit has only the two attachments but with the one that came with the HL5 that is all I'll need. Some may say the Home Kit is a little pricey but I think it's well worth the money.If I have any criticism to make then it's the length of the Tote bag that comes with the Home Kit; if it were a bit longer then it could completely enclose the long wand. But overall I'd give the appliance, kit and service 5 out of 5.
Good product, good price. Easy to order and despatched on time.Unfortunately delivery is provided by DPD who sent me email saying they'd tried to deliver the package unsuccessfully with a photo of the wrong address, I rearranged for the following day and got an email saying the same driver had again attempted delivery with a photo of a different incorrect address. Eventually I elected for it to be left at the local post office. Very happy with the vacuum though.
