If I could give 0 stars I would. Bare root shrubs turned up with no leaves but thought I’d plant them and water them to see if they’d develop some leaves. I had a professional gardener in to help and he told me that the shrubs didn’t look like privets. I looked back on the order just to make sure. I left them a whole winter and summer with the hope they’d grow but 2 years down the line still nothing. I have a dying hedge row and turns out that they sent me wild laurel instead of privet hedge row. I contacted customer service and 6 months later still waiting for a reply. All I’m having now are automated reply telling me that it’s their busy period and to only contact them ONCE. Awful company, do not buy from these.
Appalling customer service. The phone number is never answered, you’ll be 3 or 4 in the queue and then as you get to no.1 your call will be terminated. Two contact forms sent, no response. All the shrubs I’ve bought from them are dying, wanted some advice. Their 5star customer service is a complete fabrication
I really dont know how they can say they have 5 stars on customer experience. We were delivered a lot of Lavender back in April which were in a terrible state, mainly dying and have tried ever since to call , the phone is never answered after waiting for some time it is dropped and also emailed. It is appalling that we haven't heard back from them and yet they have taken my money and delivered dead plants. Do not buy from them. It is a shame as over the years I have spent thousands of pounds with them but will never order from them again.
I have been trying to make contact with Hopes Grove for the past few weeks over unsatisfactory hedging plants that have been delivered. Noone is responding via email and each time I call and wait in the queue, I get automatically cut off when I get to position number 2. The hedging is deteriorating quickly and about 6 are now looking dead. These plants are meant to have a 12 month warranty but the terrible customer service means I am unable to discuss the issue with anyone.
Ordered plants on 6th April which were indicated as currently available. Received a 'Thank you for your order' email that day which said 'We work as fast as possible to deliver orders within 5-7 working day'. On 7th April received an order confirmation email stating that the plants would be despatched in June!! Money taken from my account.Emailed that day to query this. No response.Called - no-one picked up the phoneEmailed to cancel order on 21st April. No response. Meanwhile they are sitting on almost £100 of my money and I have no plants. Will be reporting to Trading Standards.
I purchased large amount of plants website said there was 100 % warranty on them, I am good gardener but 40 % of them died. I contacted company several times and they never reach back to me, made any refund or even noticed my recent order ( as I needed to replace dead plants that looked alike - English yew) so they’re customer service isn’t good. Now I am only hoping my hedging will grow this year as this is another loss for me, last year it didn’t grow well, we hoping after all care at least 70 % will grow we shall see as if not it’s another loss and company does nothing to replace hedging.
Delivered one day early despite having it in writing it was for the following day!! I had surgery a few days prior and was called by the person dropping them off to say he was leaving over £1000 of yew hedging on my drive. I had arranged for assistance for the correct delivery day but apparently they don’t care about keeping delivery dates. DO NOT ORDER I’m now left with £1000 on my un gated drive overnight. Tried calling head off twice now only to be disconnected both times before speaking to someone
I was getting worried after reading some of the poor reviews. I rung to check on my delivery date and there was a queue to get answered but the lady on the phone was very helpful and rang me back within 5 minutes to update me on my delivery. The plants arrived today and I’m very happy. 40 bare rooted Portuguese Laurel, 1-2 foot but probably all about 50/55cm, very healthy, loads of roots and very bushy. I had dug holes ready but had to make them even deeper today to get all of the roots in. They are all planted now and looking great in the sunshine. Also had 30 Griselinia in small pots. These are lovely and probably bigger than I thought. They all arrived in four cardboard boxes, well wrapped and packed in straw. No damage to any of them. I would have attached a photo if I could have :)A big thank you to the nursery as my garden is going to look lovely.
