Review Time
I ordered privett hedge plants on 13 April. Had to rder more than I required because of 'minimum order'Very poor comms, no response to email; phone call on 4 May: after a very long wait, they said would send out in 1 more week. This would be 4 weeks from order to despatch. They said they had 'experienced' delays, and had 'experienced problems with email' as if it was someone else to blame, whereas in fact they caused the problem by poor service. I asked for a full refund, and at least the refund was done quickly.
Purchased Hedging plants from them and on delivery saw that Plants were very poor with majority with leaf disease. Phoned straight away to say we were unhappy and told to take photo's. Came back to us a day later and said they would recover once planted and no issues. Disagreed with them as did not want to take plants off the pallet. Asked us to take more photos and than told that their horticulturist said with a little TLC they would be fine. They than claimed the plants were 2nd grade plants and were as we payed for. On checking the site they had added a stamp on the advert saying they were 2nd Grade. This was not there when we purchased them. Have written a letter of complaint (hidden in the T&C's is a clause that that only a letter sent to them within 10 days covers you for any issues). they have no intentions of rectifying this but a letter will be sent to Trading Standards about their shabby service
Spent £500 on plants, nightmare with delivery the company they utilised couldn’t follow simply instructions and were very rude. Initially Hopes Grove were helpful. However of the 20 plants we purchased 4 plants are failing when the other 16 are thriving all in the same location and soil. I called them and they asked me to email in with photos and a covering note. I haven’t received any response after 7 days. Will attempt to speak to them again it not I’ll be raising the issue with my credit card company . Poor, poor service .
I ordered 13 common laurel plants and the root grow. Hopes Grove were quick to confirm the order and dispatch. The order was actually received a couple of days earlier than expected. As I had not fully prepared the planting area, they the plants were kept in their pacaging for a couple of days before planting. The order arrived with an excellet booklet on how to prepare the soil, plant and post planting care. The plants looked a bit bedraggled when planting, then their leaves turned yellow and fell off, but I was assured by the instructions that this was normal. Having planted the hedge out in early Apr 23, I am please to report now (Dec 23) that new leaves appered as the yellow ones fell off and I now have a very health, bushy hedge. Delighted with my purchase. Fantastic value for money. It seems that those leaving poor reviews just needed to follow the instructions and have some patience to let their plants recover.
I ordered some lavender from this company and the plants I received were more dead than alive. They are the worst plants I have ever bought. I emailed the company to notify them and received no reply. They completely ignored the emailThe first email was sent over 2 weeks ago and I've now had to email them again, giving them 7 days to reply.Terrible company; they've taken my money and delivered incredibly sub standard plants. I recommend avoiding them like the plaque
Good and bad. Good points, kept up to date with the delivery date and it was spot on, which was great especially as I ordered it two months before the despatch date for winter dormant plants.Bad points, and it's bad!! The plants were well packaged in cardboard, but had every available space rammed tight with shredded plastic, the sort they make plant labels with. So my lovely bee friendly plants and bird enticing fauna were covered in hostile plastic that couldn't even be recycled because it was shreds. Definitely won't use them again until they look at more recyclable packing materials! There are great alternatives on the market, they just need to step up.
