I like the website. The ease of use. The latest offer updates and changes with the season. Professional and reliable. I don’t like the named next day delivery asking you to pay more and then it arrives the day after the names day. What a rip off. Not impressed. If you know it can’t be done don’t offer the service and take money falsely.
Yet again a shocking experience. After a late delivery last time I placed an order, this time I paid for a named day delivery, I needn't have bothered, it still didn't arrive on the required day.My wife, who placed the order using my credit card was not suitably qualified to speak to the person in the call centre.So I have to stop what I am doing and confirm she is authorised to speak on the matter. It's not like I hold the nuclear codes!She then spends a fruitless 30 minutes on the call. End result, still no delivery but the massive gesture of a £5 gift card.I guess I should be grateful for the delivery only being 1 day late, and not the 2 days late you originally promised.A word of advice, if a customer has a complaint, already exceed their expectations when you resolve it, don't make out you are actually doing them a favour by delivering the order in the first place.If anyone wants the £5 gift card, just ask, I won't be using or recommending Hotel Chocolate again.Thank you for the opportunity to tell you what I think, I will get back to work now.
The product itself is great. The £5 delivery service and receiving it a week after purchase - all for it to just use Amazon to deliver it, was poor. Could have just used Amazon prime after all that. Wouldn’t have had to pay the additional £5 and would have received it the day after purchase. Pretty poor from that side!
Have visited Hotel Chocolat twice in Bury Lancashire in the last couple of weeks, lovely staff nice atmosphere really impressed with the hot chocolate drinks Lorenzo advised of offer on box of sachets couldn’t resist buying on his recommendation’s will definitely be back.
The products themselves are great, but the courier used is awful. Chose to have the order delivered to work based on the advertised delivery date. Amazon left the parcel outside an industrial unit (which is now shut for the weekend)in the rain. Won't be ordering again if Hotel Chocolat continue to use Amazon shipping and after reading other people's reviews I can see that this is a regular occurance.
I ordered some chocolates for my father’s birthday. He’s a long time fan and has just had to go into a care home. I ordered the delivery a week in advance. Standard delivery would have arrived in time but I wanted to be sure they arrived on the day itself so booked a named day delivery. On the day of delivery I had a message saying they would be delivered two days late (not great for a product ordered in advance in a “Happy Birthday” sleeve). I have now had a message saying they were actually delivered this evening (one day late) and left “near the front door” of a building with visitors and staff passing in and out continually. They have not been located. People order chocolates like these for special occasions. Such a careless approach to delivery isn’t acceptable.
Tasty chocolate and excellent customer service. I absolutely love hotel chocolat. I’m leaving a 4 stay review only because I paid for NDD and it arrived 3 days late! However, I was fully refunded for the delivery total delivery cost, therefore I’m satisfied.
