Review Time
Initially I was going to comment on the appalling dispatch time, but having now received the order I'll also comment on the value.It took 5 days to dispatch my order, delivered by Amazon logistics. That's not good enough.As to the items ordered, I guess I should have read the small print. I must be living in an alternate universe, one where 150g of chocolate costs £20, because that's what I've paid.£20 for a 150g 'happy birthday' box of chocolates. The box is tiny, and frankly I'm now rather embarrassed to offer it as a gift.I appreciate chocolate isn't cheap, and this is supposedly premium chocolate, but £20 for 150g of chocolate does not represent value for money. The weight of the item is hidden far down in the listing in small print, rather than being transparent when ordering. I feel conned and taken for a ride. I'll never order from Hotel Chocolat again.
Just about the poorest customer of any subscription service that I use. Slow to process orders, slow to dispatch, slow delivery service - you really need to learn from other premium subscription providers Hotel Chocolat!
Items ordered were delivered within the time-span specified.The Advent Calendars were bought as gifts for relatives and their spouses, and cannot be started until Advent Sunday, or next day, Mon 01 Dec 25.I am cofident that their quality is as good as ever, and that the contents will be much appreciated.
The product from Hotel chocolate good. Packaging good. Delivery - left package on view in front garden. Very surprised that someone didn’t take it. Amazon said left behind bin but they did not put it there. Shame you can’t pick a weekend day for delivery of subscription items. Puts my off subscribing for regular items.
Just received my Hotel Chocolate subscription of my chocolate sachets, and see the packaging has changed, this wouldn’t normally bother me, except that I used to be able to see at a glance between the 70% and the85%, as the sachet tops were coloured, now they’re very similar. The worst part is that the weight has changed from 35g to 31g. Same price though, why has this been done?
Chocolates fine. Delivery bad. Chocs were left on front step easily seen from road, and in bright sunlight. Side gate was open with easy access to back door, hidden from the street and in shade. Very inconsiderate delivery with no use of common sense.
The hot chocolate from Hotel Chocolat is by far the best I’ve ever had, I’m now a repeat customer, especially the peanut butter (tastes like a snicker) and the Black Forest flavours. The only gripe I have is that I placed the order on Thursday evening and it only arrived the following Wednesday afternoon, so if you want it in a hurry, perhaps order from elsewhere.
