Inconsistent sizing, high costs of delivery/refund

I have bought many pairs of wide fit Hotter shoes in my size because they’re always comfortable and fit well. I ordered a new style-a pair of Mist GTX wide fit shoes in same size and when they arrived I found that I could only fit my foot into the shoe with difficulty-the toe area was cramped with my big toe being pushed inwards. The sizing seems inconsistent and because of that I am having to return them. I will have paid over £7 for delivery and refund charges, basically for trying them on. Because of this, I won’t be buying online from them in future.

Mixed feelings

You are charged for items that haven’t been despatched. Their refund process is very slow. Good communication. Fortunately found shoes suitable for my elderly mother with swollen feet. Just waiting for the slippers to be despatched.

Oooohhh Hotter…….

I’ve worn Hotter boots for years - super quality that really lasts. On that basis I purchased a rich looking sage green Murmer boots, but what arrived in no way resembled the photo. An awful sickly pale green and a boot that looked cheap (which they most certainly aren’t) and nasty. Clearly another company cutting costs above customer satisfaction! Boots have gone straight back & you’ve just lost a customer!

No refund received

Update: full refund received 27 October after ‘disappointed’ email sent. They just couldn’t find the trainers i returned. I returned a pair of trainers a month ago and the tracking indicated they received them 19th September. I left it a week and then called but was told I might need to wait 10 working days to receive the refund. I called again on 7th October and was told they couldn't find the trainers. I made a further call shortly after as I hadn't heard and was given short thrift on this last call. To date I still haven't received a refund and it's now a month after they received them.

Disappointed!

I buy most of my shoes from Hotter! Fir the First time I am disappointed! Style, TempoStyle is small heel T strap front! Lovely with a dress when going out for a nice meal, party etc! I’m a wide fit! Tell me why for winter season they’ve done beige in wide not the black patent! Who does the buying! Black patent is a must at this time of year!!

Ah Hotter you said my delivery would be…

Ah Hotter you said my delivery would be the week commencing 13th October! But alas no, as I suspected I receive yet another email telling me it will be now the week commencing 27th October! I placed my order on the 4th of September! My holiday has come and gone! So hopefully I will receive these before my next holiday? Or will you just send me another email in 2 weeks time? Edit - as predicted I have received yet another email saying it will now be week commencing the 10th November!I should start my own page, so you can place a bet ‘will I receive yet another delayed e-mail’

Awful returns !!! Do not bother

Pair of boot brought in wide. Received and very narrow and uncomfortable so sent back - STILL waiting for a refund called to be told they will deal and send it over Monday! Nothing then had to send another email today and they’ve told me I will need to wait ANOTHER 5-10 days for my refund to reach me, and this privilege has cost me £8 to do all of this for a pair of shoes that don’t even fit!! DO NOT BOTHER

Mixed bag of experiences

I have had a mixed bag of experiences with Hotter, the best being their Seasons Slippers. Top class! Overall I notice the quality of Hotter shoes dropping over the past 2-3 years. The cushioning of the insoles is not as luxuriously comfortable as it used to be and the leather often too hard, especially around the edges. I have been sent faulty shoes several times and had disputes about who pays for returns, but the disputes have been resolved at company level, never needed to escalate. I still hope the company will recover and resume their top quality production of shoes you would never wish to take off. One thing they should stop doing is stop sending customers catalogues when they (me anyway) have deliberately opted to NOT receive them when ordering online.

Poor customer service and advertised items not available

I ordered a pair of sandals and paid extra for next day delivery.By 6.30 pm the following day I had not received the sandals so rang Hotter to ask what had happened. I was told delivery could be as late as 8.00pm.No delivery arrived.Later that evening I received an email saying the sandals were not available.Having already paid for the sandals plus an excess charge for next day delivery and waiting until 8.00 pm for the sandals to be delivered I was angry and disappointed. I'm awaiting my refund and won't be purchasing from Hotter again.
