I have lived on a housing21 court for 5 years, the manager is completely useless and does very little, apparently most problems that occur on the court are not in her remit, and most complaints are brushed under the carpet, the flats have many problems such as damp and subsidence which are not dealt with in a satisfactory manner. The latest insult is the manager getting a 10% rise and residents rents going up 12 1% although the government has advised a 7%increase for the elderly and those in need This company purports to be a charity. but the only people benefitting are the overpaid management and not the residents who pay their wages. A disgruntled resident Poole, Dorset
I also recently had a job interview like Simon reported and it was a similar experience. They commented on how many awards for customer service they had won. That may need to be reviewed, It’s been 8 weeks since the interview and I’m still waiting
Housing 21 , closing to be do good at addressing complaints regarding tenants, but I have lived in one of there flats at MOWAT COURT for 5,1/2 years now and in all that time I have been constantly BULLIED by tenants who think they own the place. !!! I have repeatedly asked H21 for help, and I have just been ignored. !! So if you want a nice quiet life, PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE !!!!
I have been a tenant in Bristol for 7 years.I have always felt very safe here. Hot water and heating is included in your utilities, which is included in your rent - you need never be cold! The communal lounge is great with coffee mornings, events, lovely Christmas Dinner etc, or just wander in for a chat! This is great especially, like me, you live alone. The garden is regularly maintained, and it’s a pleasure to sit out there. All in all a great place to live independently - And the rent, which includes your utilities is very good. Thoroughly recommend.
To be fair I wrote a critical review about the problems we had with the lift at Brooks Taylor Court and this has been addressed....for the moment. We have been promised a new lift, sometime next year (!) and I will report back if this ever happens, which I would love to see.Today I am moaning about the replacement heaters being installed in our block of flats. The company employed to do the work is a company called Hewer (avoid them if you can). The heating here is night storage units, which do need replacing as they are ancient, but the heaters on the corridors and landings have been turned off when they are only working on individual flats. I appreciate that they have to be switched off 24 hours beforehand, to let the bricks cool down, but when I asked the foreman if he would be working on the corridor heaters in the next week he said he would not. I asked him to turn them back on until he was, but he has not done so. I got in touch with everyone I could think of in Housing21 but Out of Office was all I received until this Monday when A person at Head Office assured me that the heaters needed to be turned off 24 hours beforehand.....which I already knew and was not the question I asked. I am so sick of questions being ignored or given an irrelevant response. Why is it necessary for elderly people to be made cold and uncomfortable in this way? The company surveyor was supposed to be coming to make sure we had heaters but she has never shown up either. It is freezing and below in Oxford, as I write, the heaters have been off for the last two weeks.
Some residents are downright rude. One of their dogs bit me. Some residents are very nice but there is an element that spoils what could be a really nice community. Moving in was straightforward with no hitches but I wish I hadn't moved here, it has caused a lot of arguments and stress between me and my partner
I moved in to one of the courts almost a year ago. I love it. Have the independence I want but also back up there if required. The court is well maintained and clean. The grounds are well kept and windows cleaned monthly. Our court manager is amazing. She cannot do enough for us. We’d be lost without her. Would highly recommend Housing 21. Best thing I ever did was moving here
From the very start of my parents moving into Maritime House both Samantha and Nikki have been wonderful. Everything is run so professionally. My parents are so happy in their new home with wonderful carers on site, lots of activities and someone always to answer any questions.
