During my recent experience with Iberojet, the online check-in system was unavailable, which required me to complete the process at the airport counter.
At the desk, my carry-on suitcase was weighed and registered at under 10 kilos. The staff then instructed me to place my personal item (a backpack) on the scale at the same time. Based on the combined weight of both items, I was informed that the suitcase had to be checked in, incurring a €100 fee.
For the payment, the counter staff refused to accept euros, citing a lack of change, and required the equivalent amount to be paid strictly in cash using pesos. While at the counter, I witnessed approximately 15 other passengers going through the exact same procedure and being asked to pay the fee in cash.
When I communicated my intention to record the situation on video to document the events for a formal complaint, the staff stated that doing so would result in them calling the police and denying my boarding.

Ok, we went with the Turista+ option, which was well worth it for the extra legroom, 2-4-2 seating in the A330, meaning we had no neighbours, the fast track was great and the extras we received including the food and drinks and the amenity kit which got to take home were well worth the extra cost, our flights there and back from Madrid to Punta Cana and back were all on-time and i will definitely use them again next year, just deciding on where we will be going and hopefully its the new A330 Neo, just to see the difference, well done iberojet,
I was dreading my flight from Bangkok to Madrid last night after reading reviews on here. However, my experience was very good. Slight delay leaving as 2 passengers failed to show up to the gate. Not Iberojet's fault! Crew were very friendly and helpful. Seats were more spacious than Qatar who we flew over with and will never use again (that's for another review). Dinner and drinks served an hour after take-off and of course, we had to pay for wine, but still worth it with the ticket price. Only grumble was on a 14-hour flight toilets got a bit smelly but they were cleaned later on. All in all one of the best budget carriers we've used and would consider again for that route.PS - significantly more leg room than a typical European budget carrier and the seats were very comfortable
I paid to select a seat. Upon day of flight I looked to see if I could change my seat for a same priced one but in a different location. I selected a random seat and hit save to see if the price would be 0. But no I have pay again and it refuses to let me check in without paying, so effectively had to pay €40 to choose a basic seat. There's no warning to say this will happen and no way to get back to my original seat or choose another
terrible bad company avoid it, in 2025 they have cancelled and they dont have WIFI in any plane anymore, a shame a company cant provide WIFI in long distance flights nowdays. Even they promote it they say it was canceled more than 8 months ago and will not have WIFI anymore.
One star is way too much for my experience. Iberojet canceled my flight, said they could not transfer the funds back on my creditcard and asked for a bank confirmation plus signing a form that holds me back from any claims against them. Okay, did that and waited… one week, no response. Mailed them again… and again… and again. No response. Called the customer service. Nice lady said she will forward my case to the support. Another week with no answer. So, it seems they're not willing to refund me. This is against the law, as it sees a payback time within 7 days, EU Regulation 261/2004. I now made a claim of fraud against them at the Spanish Aviation Safety Agency (AESA). If you face the same issues I urge you to do the same. As for now, I‘d say I never had such an unprofessional and incompetend customer support in my 50 years of airtravel. They treat their customers like garbage, never reply and keep your money. Avoid this airline at any costs, this one is as bad as it could be. Pay a bit more, at the end you'll be happy.
