Honestly one of the worst experiences…

Honestly one of the worst experiences ever — bought extra luggage in advance of my flight, and packed everything making sure we were under weight. Then, they checked in our 5 kgs underweight bags with no problems at all, but then made us weigh absolutely everything we had on us for hand luggage in one go (including the coats we were wearing?!) and found that we were 5kg over. This shouldn’t be a problem, because we can just put our coats in the other bag? No, not possible. The only alternative is to pay €90 euros to check in one of our hand luggage bags. No reasoning with them, they’re out to look for a way to charge you extra. Finally, they tried to write the receipt in my partner’s name and almost refused to change it when I said I needed an accurate receipt to dispute the charge with my bank (even though I’m the one paying and speaking to them!). They are so sneaky and are just on the hunt to make some extra money from you — be careful.

Horrible experience!

We had a terrible experience with Iberojet that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. We booked return direct flights from Lisbon to Cancun and back, months in advance, to ensure a smooth and comfortable journey. However, two days ago, we received some strange emails from Iberojet claiming our return flight was cancelled. Although disappointed, we understand that cancellations can happen due to strikes or unforeseen circumstances.Iberojet advised us to reroute through Barcelona, which added over 10 hours to our travel time before finally reaching our final destination in Lisbon. This was inconvenient, but we tried to stay understanding. However, when we arrived at Cancun airport, we saw that our original flight to Lisbon – the one we booked months ago – was still flying as scheduled.We were shocked and confused. How could this be possible? We thought our flight was cancelled! It quickly became clear that Iberojet had not cancelled the flight but had rerouted us for no reason. Our best guess is that they overbooked the flight and decided to bump us, but they never provided any explanation or reason for this change.Trying to contact Iberojet was a nightmare. The only way to reach them was through an unresponsive email, and they completely avoided answering any of our questions. The way they communicated (or rather, didn't communicate) with us was infuriating. Reading back through the email thread, where they vaguely stated our flight was "rerouted," without any valid reason or apology, makes me sick.This experience has left a really bad taste in our mouths. The lack of transparency, poor communication, and disregard for their customers is unacceptable. If you’re considering flying with Iberojet, be warned: they might overbook flights and reroute you without any explanation, and you’ll have no way to contact them. Avoid this airline if you can.

Customer Service?? a useless hotline is more accurate!

Edit after Flight: I add 1 Star for Checkin and Boarding.Checkin. Very good. No complications and pretty fast in BKK Airport. No complaining about Backpack with LaptopBoarding: All on Time as scheduled.OnBoard: Pay Headphones? Did not pay since 8 Years by any other airline. Everything included. 4 or 7€ for a cheap 0,50€ China Product.Food; I ordered Pasta. Not to eat. Just discusting. I dont know how long this Pasta was already in the Holdomat to keep it hot. My Neighbors had Chicken. Same. I dont want to know how much they throw away. But my statement will be the same. Never again Iberojet! Sadly i have to fly back with Iberojet to BKK. lets see if at least the food is better when its fresh.Customer Service??? They should call this Service "Write your request, we ignore it anyways and dont help".Long Story short. I tried to reserve seats from BKK to MAD and back. I need to book Windows seats because i have Claustrophobia and need to have a view. Otherwise i get panic Attacks. BUT..... Iberojet has Card restrictions from different Countrys. So i could not pay with any of my Asian Cards the Amount of 50€. I mailed the Customer Service. They told me about highly secured page and more. But no sign of "we try to help"!, They did not care about my Issue and just ignored it. "You can make a transfer. OK. I tried. But again. ISSUE. Bank from Asia to Europe allows only Transfers from at least 91,xx€. I mailed The "Customer Service" again. Sorry cant make Transfer because of minimum Amount for Transfer. Again... NO HELP: They really dont care. "Sorry, thats all we can tell you". And the Issue i have is pretty serious. I fly around 28 years and only this year i had 25 flights. Not always is running everything smooth. Thats normal. But Iberojet is the first Airline, i ever flyed with, who dont care about the Customer. 5 Different people answer and not one is really reading what the reason for my needs for help is. And NOT ONE OF THEM EVEN TRIED TO HELP. Copy Paste answers and thats ist. Worst ever experience i ever had in my Life with a Airline. This is a arline with International flights. They should not have Card restrictions for Countrys they fly to. They have to expect that Citizens from this countrys fly with them. Or at least try to fly with them. Horrible AIrline, Horrible Customer Service! Not to recommend. Even Cheap Airlines like WIZZAir, Vueling etc. Have much better Customer Service and help where help is needed. And the quality and reliability of this airline is also reflected here. Not on comment from the Airline to the reviews here.

Great Airline and Excellent Customer Service

Folks, dont believe all the negative reviews. I flew on this airline just now August 2024. The boarding process was a breeze and the plane was clean and comfortable. The staff were excellent and the meals they served were great! I will be flying with them again in July of 2025. Just be sure to follow the rules of their baggage wt limit ( 10 kg ) and you will be enjoy your experience. Thanks Iberojet for a wonderful flight to Madrid.

Huge hidden costs, don’t be fooled by the cheap prices

The initial booking price was cheap, but then when you go to check in, at the airport (because there is no online check in), they charge you 3,600 Mexican pesos (200€) to check in your “free” carry on, because they weigh it plus your backpack and that obviously weighs more than the 10kg limit. This experience wasn’t unique to me, I saw this happening to everyone. In the end you end up paying the same or more than the more established airlines, where you don’t have to wait 2 hours to check in and get hustled.

Don’t do it - find another airline just stay home.

Please, for the love of God, do not book this airline. It was the worst flight of my life not only was the service subpar, the cleanliness of the plane not apparent they took an entire hour to get our luggage out, causing us to miss our next flight. I’m well aware that when you come into a country, it’s customary to learn their language so that you can better communicate with them, but there should at least be english speakers at the airport -it took us three hours to figure out what to do $600 just to get another flight. I will never come to Spain again. And I will NEVER fly Iberiojet again. at this point, I want to learn the language just so I can cuss everybody out. I also wish I knew how racist this country was before I came because the treatment was terrible as well experiences like this don’t even like traveling worth it.

The plane is horrible!

The plane is horrible!! There is no screen to watch movies and the space between the seats is very small! the only screen in front of the plane was broken. 8 hours looking at the ceiling never again!!! the flight attendants are excellent! Cool and polite. Iberojet never again!!!

No matter you explain you are a tourist and your PERSONAL COMPUTER is PERSONAL, they will charge 19% import tax (they do not understand the words tourist, personal, temporary import, THEY WILL just say a Samsung is worth 2000 Euros and show you the credit card device. NEW GOVERNMENT OF BANANA REPUBLIC with nigeria's police officers (army).

Misleading practices to extort for cabin luggage

At no point during reservation or confirmation was there information that the weight of personal piece of cabin luggage is included in 10kg allowance. I was asked to check a 9kg bag becausw together with the small one it weight 12kg. They charged me €150 for this. Extortion! Never ever will I fly with this airline again.
