Review Time
This is an update on my earlier review “Kent do not deliver” from Dec 2025. After I wrote to the company CEO (I had no satisfaction from the client liaison staff) a manager called to say that my lost furniture (2 tables and 4 chairs) was found in Sydney. He guaranteed that it would be delivered to our Qld address the following Wednesday. However despite promises and acknowledgement of poor processes we still did not get the dining room table and had to have Christmas dinner in the courtyard in the rain. In the end it took 3 deliveries to get half the furniture from a 2 BR delivered interstate. DO NOT GO WITH KENT.
When they say “hire the professionals”, you can’t go past Kent Removalists. With decent prices, very good flexibility, excellent customer service and communication, you will be in the sage hands. Just make sure you talk to them about the best way to pack your items.
The quote process was quick and very efficient, however… moving 3 km up the road, (my husband and I are both out of commission with back issues) not even moving an entire 4 bed house as we would be able to get help moving most of the smaller things and would pack most of it ourselves, was over $6,300 dollars for the “cheaper date”. I could walk it over for cheaper and less stressful. There was no justification on where they pulled this figure from. When we moved across state (4.5 hours)2 years ago, the quote we received from a different removal company was $2,000.
It would be zero stars if the men doing the work weren’t so amazing. Overcharge you in any way they possibly can. Best advise:- hire a removalist, put your belongings into storage and pay a removalist to return your belongings. You will save thousands. You won’t have cockroaches either. The men doing the work are amazing however the salesmen lied, the extra charges were sent to my spam folder, and they will hold your belongings until you pay another $1680 to return your belongings. On top of almost $5k to take it, $440 a month for storage, fumigation and insurance. Mind is blown and cannot deal with it. It’s all in the fine print you can’t check because the contact is online and you will never find a copy despite requesting one/
I used Kent for a short move to the next suburb and I honestly wouldn’t use them again. It was just a 2-bedroom apartment to another 2-bedroom place, only me and my partner, so I expected it to be a pretty simple job. Instead, the whole thing dragged out to about 8 hours, which felt way too long for such a small local move, and the final bill came in at around $2,500.What bothered me most wasn’t just the time or the price, but the outcome. My washing machine was damaged during the move and the table they took apart and reassembled has never been the same – it wobbles every time we sit down. The two guys who came were polite enough and didn’t have a bad attitude, but they seemed quite inexperienced and not very organised, and it really showed in how the day went and how our things ended up.Overall, I walked away really disappointed with the service and, based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend Kent Movers.
Quote, pack and pick up all great. Totally down hill from then. Numerous phone calls and 4 broken appointments and we're yet to see anyone to come and collect packaging as promised. Amazing how a company can mess things up like this. All the hard work was done by your packing & uplift team and yet once we reached our destination the unpackers were fair at best and the simple action of coming to collect the packaging can't be fulfilled. Very frustrated
