Outrageous and really poor unhelpful service they messed us around . Asking for same paperwork that we already sent them . They don’t provide phone service. They not responded too my complaint too or any attempted too call me back. I am not surprised they have a lot of 1 star reviews online
Delays in referencing due to keysafe not sending the email through to the correct address. Bizarrely open banking confirmed my employment with keysafe and I passed immediately, however my partner was delayed despite also providing open banking for his only bank account and having been employed longer than myself. Last year when moving we had this exact same issue except the other way round, same roles, same bank accounts and no job changes. Keysafe really need to improve their referencing system as this is hugely detrimental to the lives of renters in the uk.
I recognise many of the comments given in the 1 star ratings. For my wife and I, dealing with Keysafe was a totally humiliating experience. They came into the picture at a late stage of the onboarding process for my daughter in a new tenancy which meant that we had to stick with them. I will never engage with them again and therefore neither with any Estate Agent that uses Keysafe exclusively.
We're currently dealing with this company due to our estate agent, and it's been a frustrating experience. They claim they can't locate the "income across 365 days from five bank accounts," which seems like a basic part of their job. After reading other reviews, I'm now seriously concerned about how our data is being handled.I've been renting homes since I was 20—nearly 20 years—and I've gone through Open Banking twice before without any issues. In both cases, I was approved immediately. This is my husband's first time using it, and he's completely unimpressed with how things are going.The 5-star reviews on this site feel suspicious—same tone, vague praise, and no real explanation of what makes the service good. It gives the impression that they’re written by their own staff.At this point, we're seriously considering walking away from our rental purely because of how poorly this company is handling things.
I wish I could give 0 stars.Horrible company as a tenant. I will actively avoid any agency who uses Keysafe from now on.Utterly useless and inflexible. They go only by their arbitrary protocols, do not find reference emails, will not answer any of your emails, and will also actively sell your data to their 'partners' who call and harass you after. After putting us through a hellish process for 2 weeks now, only to tell us we need to send them our tax returns or else we will fail (despite having acces to the f-ing open banking and being able to see exactly how much we are paid) - they proceed to send our full names, phone numbers, and god knows what else to a 'tenant insurance' partner of theirs - whose number is listed on the internet as a scam. Dude called me by full name, knew the location of the flat we applied for and the agency's name, and said they were sent the details by keysafe. I AM LIVID.
Their vetting process is a tool for them to make more money by selling 3rd party insurance and receiving commissions. As if they are not vetting a tenant, rather lending money to buy a house. Their thoroughness is pointless as things happen and circumstances change in life. Today someone making over 100k could lose their job 6months in to tenancy. And vice versa someone earning less could be earning much higher amounts. They treat people with lower income like not worthy of anything and can’t be trusted. They make a difficult process even more difficult for the sake of their own profits. It would be great if they could do their job and not act as lenders.
Guarantor for daughter’s rental. The process wa totally excessive needing every detail from passport to to earnings and what our direct debits are! It made me extremely uncomfortable giving out the amount of information they insist upon.
Hell on earth…. I am deeply frustrated and disappointed with the disastrous handling of my rental application due to the involvement of KeySafe.tv. While the letting agent is not directly responsible for their incompetence, the decision to use such an invasive, unprofessional, and grossly inefficient company has left me in a catastrophic situation.From the start, I was completely transparent and provided every single document they requested. They are quite capricious, entitled and act as if they are the bloody FBI and investigating you for murder. Despite my cooperation, KeySafe.tv subjected me to a month-long nightmare of redundant, irrelevant requests and endless delays, all while refusing to understand basic aspects of my employment. They had every opportunity to call my workplace to confirm my status, but instead, they chose to bury me in needless bureaucracy. After all this, they ultimately denied my application—leaving me with no time to find a home before my move-out date.This process wasn’t just inconvenient; it was utterly devastating. I’ve wasted a month of my life, missed out on other opportunities, and lost the chance to renew my current lease. On top of that, KeySafe.tv’s absurd demands forced me to disrupt my colleagues, involve HR and managers in endless back-and-forths, and hand over sensitive personal data—only to be treated like a criminal. Their vetting process is not tenant screening; it’s harassment.The consequences of their incompetence mean nothing to KeySafe.tv or the landlords who hire them, but for tenants like me, the stakes couldn’t be higher. I’m now left with no home, no immediate solutions, and no recourse after this appalling experience. Their heavy-handed, degrading approach is completely unacceptable and has caused harm I wouldn’t wish on anyone.If you’re considering using KeySafe.tv, I strongly urge you to think again. Their incompetence and lack of respect for tenants have real, damaging consequences. Avoid them at all costs. They are absolute clowns to say the very least and stay polite. I wish I could give 0 stars. When you do get to chat with them they have an attitude, talk to you like you’re Pablo Escobar and under investigation and are just purposely being “computer says no”. W***kers.
