There was a small mistake with my order at first, but Rianne went above and beyond to make sure I received the correct shoes — even tracking down a pair from another country’s warehouse. She included a handwritten note and a pair of socks, which was such a thoughtful touch.I've been a happy user of the CX238, and my new MX239s are just as great, if not better. The quality is exceptional, and the fit is perfect.Truly one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had. Huge thanks to Rianne and the Lake team!
The unfortunate thing about Lake is that they offer no returns once a cleat is mounted. For someone spending $385 on a pair of shoes, I would be a fool not to try them in a “real world” scenario before I buy them. Sadly, the pair felt okay off the bike, but on the bike didn’t work because the tongue cuts into my foot when pedaling. So, I am stuck with a pair of shoes I can never wear.
Lake makes the most comfortable cycling shoes ever. I have a wide foot and some painful neuropathy and had a hard time finding cycling shoes. Using Lake's online sizing info, I found a great-fitting pair of road cycling shoes a couple of years ago. When I recently bought my urban e-bike, I again used their sizing guidance and bought some off-road MX-177 shoes. Surprisingly, their sizing guidance recommended a different size than the road shoes, but I trusted the guidance , and voila. Another great fitting (good looking, as well) pair of shoes from Lake. I hope they never change their fit.
I ordered 2 pairs of Lake cycling shoes on March 22. As of May 20th, I have not received anything. I've been told that one pair is no longer available. I had to follow up on them. Now, one pair has been shipped with no comment about a refund or a second pair. I sent an email asking about my refund and to date, silence.
I like the shoes. The shipping fees though are outrageous. 13 € to have them shipped to Germany. And if for any reason these shoes do not fit, you have to pay another 15 € on your own expense to send them back. That ´s 30 € to try on a pair of shoes that cost between 200 an 450 €. I don ´t know who at Lake came up with that idea, but that person quite frankly is an idiot.
