Review Time
I was one of the original Kickstarter backers and looked forward to my bag for months and months a few years ago. When it originally arrived, I absolutely loved it and showed it off a lot! I very quickly had problems with the zippers (not zipping, opening in the middle, etc.) and reported it to them promptly. Delightfully, customer service was great for me and they replaced the bag pretty quickly with one that seemed to work better. Unfortunately, that second one also pretty quickly started having zipper problems, also not closing at least half the time. Sadly it was further away from when I had originally gotten when they started happening (although certainly significantly less than a year), and I had started using that one only for conference trips with the more broken original one that barely closed at all for daily work, so I didn't get it replaced again. That was short-sighted of me because now I just have two bags that are beautiful and could be functional, but don't close. I love the concept and have considered buying a new one in Air size, but fear it due to this zipper experience. Also would like different color options in the Air size, such as the chocolate one, since the Santorini is pretty but Im reluctant to pay premium prices for canvas that is likely to look dirty pretty quickly.
The bag I received does not appear to be leather; the hardware is very lightweight and zippers feel like they will not last; the backpack attachments are back to front, so when in backpack mode, the opening to the backpack will be upside down; the compression and insulated insert are very small and won’t fit anything of substance (e.g. a camera or change of clothes); and overall the bag is actually really heavy.The bag is not worth the price paid.I do not recommend purchasing from this company, not only is the bag very poor quality, and not worth the price, but the company will not put any of the issues right, and has actively scammed Kickstarter backers on the price of the bag and shipping (bags have been available online for less than on Kickstarter for months).
You'd think a company that ends their posts with a chipper "We're just an email away!" signoff would actually answer emails, but this one does not. They pretend to be a new Kickstarter business but have actually run nine campaigns and their indifference to customer service OR quality of product OR honesty in their campaign promises is deliberate. Spend your money at a reputable company that makes solid products, not on that abuses its platform and customers. I still have no bag and zero responses to emails even though they claimed to be finishing the shipping process and would be catching up on emails within a week (that was 13 days ago).Their preferred response seems to be claiming that they reached out several times, so just know that if they write that in response to this, it's another lie.
Love my bag, especially chic using it as a backpack! I travel quite a bit and there have been a handful of times where strangers would stop to ask where I got it! I usually just use the lightweight laptop carrier but for traveling using the full pack is great for laptop and my drawing supplies and a book. The only reason it’s getting a 4 instead of 5 is that it is a bit on the heavy side but honestly love it so much.
I also had the previous generation named One and a couple of weeks ago I received the new Grand!It really is a huge improvement! The zippers run super smooth, and I’ve found the expandable pocket to be a lifesaver with gym clothes. The shoes and wet clothes fit perfectly and also keep the wet stuff separate from the rest.
I got the Grand & Air. Love mine! Worth every penny and the accessories are so smart. So glad I got in on the Kickstarter. Absolutely the best. I travel for work and this is the most stylish, professional, and functional bag I have ever owned. Every courthouse I have walked into since purchasing someone has commented on this bag and asked me where I got it. A 10/10 for sure!
I was one of the backers in their Grand and Air campaign and all I can say is that my wife loved the concept as well as the quality.Yes, it did take a while to arrive, but being a Kickstarter campaign, it was expected. I was a bit worried to be honest because there were so many reviews, but yea I’m glad I didn’t listen because it was all worth the wait.
