The yarn seems generally fine. I ordered directly from Lion Brand to get a better price on Mandala Bonus Bundles. They did not inform me for six days that there was a delay with my order, and their "update" gave no indication of when it might ship. In this the year of our Lord 2024, they can't automate their orders with their shipping and production notifications? My order is unfulfilled, as am I, yet there is no way to cancel it. Unacceptable. You can't cancel an order for which you have pulled no product and done nothing? I ordered yarn from Turkey and it was shipped and delivered to the US in the same amount of time it took Lion Brand to even tell me there was a delay. They claim it takes them longer when they have a big sale. Fine, then hire temps or something. It's already ridiculous that an order can take 1-2 weeks. Is this 1980?I can find the same kind of yarn from different brands and will certainly do so in future. This is the worst online ordering experience I have had in a decade or more.
I love being able to customize kits. But it would be helpful to have the yarn to be used for a pattern also show up as a preview picture. Having to pick colorways from a tiny circle of color is not easy. And misleading (as I discovered by looking at the yarn's own page.)Also, it would be *extremely* helpful to have knit and crocheted swatches of each color depicted to see how they work up.
Love the Mandala Ombré Yarn that I am using to make a blanket! It is very easy to work with and the color called ‘Happy’ is!!! I needed more of the same color to complete my project and my reorder matched exactly.I’ve bought Lion Brand yarn in stores but the stores never seem to have enough of the same color so many times I order directly from the company!
Great quality cotton yarn (Coboo)..splits are expected and some sections of all 3 colors I ordered were splitting at times. I would recommend another yarn type for a true beginner as it would be really frustrating! Pleased with the quality of the dye.... Absolutely no white patches to be found!!! I used this yarn for a crocheted striped dress.
I suspect it has to do with the fact that this colorway keeps selling out and they’re trying to reproduce it so quickly that the quality is being sacrificed. I’ve had to frog hundreds of stitches and rewind a second cake to get the colors right because the yarn turned thin and hard and I thought it would sort itself out so kept crocheting. It made my afghan flimsy and “hard” and clearly those rows had thinner yarn than the first cake, which was perfect. Now my second replacement cake is starting to do the same thing. A gift that should have been completed is still not completed because I’m frogging again and had to order more Meowth colorway Bonus Cakes and wait for shipping. I’ve never had an issue like this with Lion Brand. They’ve been a solid yarn for me to use for decades. This was so disappointing and I can’t have been the only one.
