I enjoy seeing the patterns that were popular for my mother and grandmother. It's a fun look back in time. There are fewer instructions in these patterns. The implicit expectations are that you have some knowledge of knitting and crocheting and that you already know how to work fairly independently. In the days of no internet friends & family passed on this knowledge to one another. I'm glad I bought the book but I would warn those that want to make these clothes that the large majority of the patterns are for crocheters, not knitters.
0 stars if I could! I ordered 12 balls of wool and paid about £35 in postage, I was happy with this until about 2 weeks later I got an email to say I was being refunded for 10 of the 12 balls. I’m still being charged about £25 in postage and cannot do the project I wanted with just 2 balls so asked the company to cancel the order but apparently that’s only an option within the first 30mins after you place an order.Okay for Lion Brand to cancel on you though?! Absolutely shocking customer service. Their advice was to refuse the parcel and once it was returned I would be refunded for the remaining 2 balls, postage in non refundable. Avoid this company like the plague!
What a company!! Rubbish!Customer service absolutely non existent. No common sense, no willingness to co-operate with customers. Unwilling to cancel my £100 order when they told me it was going to be delayed. Said I could only send it back - to the US right, expensive. I wanted to cancel as soon as they let me know it was going to be delayed - they said they couldn't cancel after 30 minutes of the order, even though it was not yet due to be shipped!!!! Ridiculous, they are dreadful at customer service. When I complained, the reply didn't address my complaint and signed off "Happy Crafting". What a dreadful way to dismiss a customer. I will never, ever deal with this company again.
Bought Mandala yarn and it is so terrible. Had to cut out so much of it because it looks like it got stuck in a piece of Velcro like 41 times and then ran over with a lawn trimmer. No wonder it’s always on sale. It’s still too much money. They could give it away for free and it would still cost too much. Can’t get my time back that I’ve wasted on making a project that will never look good Thanks to dookie yarn.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thought Lion Brand Was a Reputable Company!!!!!!!! Payed good money for P&P to New Zealand because in New Zealand it actually worked out better money wise as yarn is a great price. …….No communication (I have tried!!!) ……Tracking Number doesn’t work, saying no package attached to Number.……Lion Brand have had my money. They are making interest for about a month now and I have nothing.……I am not hopeful to be-able to crochet my daughter a blanket for Christmas.Stay Away From #lionbrand.com
I'd give it 0 stars if that were possible. I received an order today of Sunset Nights yarn, it is HORRIBLE. Supposedly is a 4-weight, but it's so very thin, and so badly wound I can tell it will split every 2 seconds if I try to use it, which I will not. I went on their website to figure out how to return it for a refund, but it appears that I would have to pay the shipping to return their defective junk!!!! What a slap in the face, I swear. I will NEVER order from these shysters again. Stay far, far away!
