Network is slow as hell and they've just turned off Mobile Hotspot for everyone without advance notice. They claim it's to 'ease congestion' though the network is still unacceptably slow, even after it's been disabled.They send SMS messages daily for rubbish offers; but couldn't be bothered to send any messages saying Mobile Hotspot was being disabled, or that the Terms & Conditions had been changed.I did finally get a message on 08/03/2025 regarding the change. This is about 40 days after the T&Cs were modified silently and somewhere between 7-20 days after it was switched off. The actual date that Mobile Hotspot was disabled depends on what rubbish customer service rep I got at the time, although the higher number is more likely as I'd been troubleshooting the Mobile Hostpot issue on and off for a couple of weeks, Absolutely the worst and slowest customer service of pretty much any company I've had the displeasure of dealing with.A subset of issues with dealing with this company include: • Gave me shockingly bad advice on how to get the best offers, wasting time and money buying multiple incorrect SIM cards • Stole over 40€ from my balance • Take weeks to answer basic customer support questionsUpdate - 15/03/2025Was notified of the reply yesterday from Lyca Mobile PT, responded very shortly thereafter by forwarding the two e-mails I'd previously sent to customer service from a week ago that have yet to be responded too.I also filled out the form Trustpilot sent which requested Name, E-mail Address, Reference, and Phone Number.Not holding my breath on any progress from these actions.Update - 20/03/2025The silence from Lyca is deafening. Not even a courtesy holding reply from my original customer support e-mails, or from the team that replied here last week.I still hold out zero hope of this company doing anything about either:* The speed of their network* Their customer service* Reversing the disabling of the mobile hotspotCurrently looking at Digi for mobile services, just need to find out if they're any better than these clowns and crooks.Update - 29/03/2025Now over 2 weeks from their reply to my review on Trustpilot and...nothing. No further replies or follow-up at all from that day.Absolutely disgusting service.
Worst services.Never buy any pack from them. I'm not able to contact the help desk ,we need to wait for 20 minutes long and when they pick up the call their voice always break up. So I had bought a plan of 12 months. Out of no where they sent me a message that I can't use my hot-spot otherwise they are going to charge additionally but when I bought the plan nothing is written like that in terms and conditions also the Internet stops every 5 minutes and when I called to register my complaint they said we are sorry we are trying to solve these problem. Trying to solve from 5months? Then they cancelled the plan of 12 months that my bought in 5th month and deducted 11 euros for no active plan, just to make more money. They are going to deduct the more money if we don't buy any plan and now the plans prices increased so just to make more money they are doing these shitty things. Customer service is worst. They don't know how to talk. Never never buy this service.
If I can give them zero, I would. Yesterday the Sim card worked and today bad surprise. I activated another one and still nothing. I called and said that hotspot is no longer offered. Only a scam company could behave in this way. Now, three Sim cards with 50 giga each into the garbage bin. Please avoid these assholes at all cost.
Lyca is great at baiting customers getting them hooked up at most competitive prices. After two months, they start raising prices and service gradually turns to crap. I paid 4 euro for the first month and same the second month. Now, they want 7 euro for the third month which I can tolerate if the service actually worked. I only receive texts at this point. No calls and no data. I cannot call their support because I am in roaming inside EU. Email support is crap too because it takes 3 weeks for every response. And of course, those responses are nonsensical and irrelevant. So Lyca is good for a month or two as a temporary solution. It's a nightmare otherwise. You cannot rely on their service especially when you go to another country even in Europe. Despite the agents telling otherwise. I did speak to them directly on the phone before going to another country.
