My experience with Moneris has been nothing short of frustrating and unacceptable. My merchant account was suddenly terminated without warning, using vague language like “multiple risk factors,” with no clear explanation and no opportunity to address or correct anything.Customer service was nearly impossible to reach. I made multiple calls, left messages, and received no callbacks, despite being told someone would contact me. When you’re dealing with held funds and an abruptly closed account, silence is not acceptable.To make matters worse, documentation was requested that I had already provided, suggesting poor internal communication or lack of proper review. The entire process felt disorganized, dismissive, and one-sided.Small businesses rely on transparency and timely communication. Moneris failed on both. Decisions appear to be made arbitrarily, with no regard for the impact on merchants, and with zero accountability afterward.I would strongly caution other small business owners to think twice before choosing Moneris. If something goes wrong, don’t expect clarity, responsiveness, or support.
I strongly recommend you look at another POS system. Software is constantly glitchy and than you sit on hold waiting for someone who can not do anything... and around and around you go.Cancel of service and they want a restocking charge for a piece of junk pin pad.Their is better software at much better prices.Stay away from Moneris Solutions.3.5 years of bad service.The only good thing was you got your hard earned money by the next morning.
If I could give no stars I would. When we upgraded our terminal because the old one stopped working, the tech never took the old machine with him and we were never informed we had to return it as we were told it was obsolete. Moneris was charging us for the new machine and the old one for months. Once we recognized this we called them immediately and although they admit not taking the machine or sending us a packing slip to send it back was their fault they refused to reimburse the double billing. In addition, when service is needed, they claim service within 24 hours and on three occasions we had to wait multiple days which meant we were unable to serve our customers for several days at a financial loss which they also did not compensate in any way for. Now that we are moving to another company for all of this poor customer service they want to charge a restocking fee of close the $300 with tax! Stay away from them and find another company.
After being a Moneris customer for years and paying the monthly rental costs I was shocked to learn that returning the machines and cancelling our account was going to cost me 450 dollars. I asked for the part of the contract that documents that and hopefully will get an answer but I am not expecting one. So basically you get charged whether you return the machines or not. I am extremely unsatisfied with this and will never us Moneris again
Nothing but nightmare with customer service. Sent all equipments and when I request them to close they started asking a terminal which I never had, said send 10 years ago, she was very rude, and charged unreasonable amount for a terminal they never sent, and top of that after service canceled a month ago, still charged a service fee, without providing service. Please make sure you get everything in writing with this company, very unprofessional way they dealt with me. Never again with Moneris again, 20 years with them but it was big mistake, guys please check your terms and conditions with them, nothing but nightmare to deal with when you leave.NEVER, NEVER AGAIN WITH THEM
