We have a mortgage with them on a discounted variable but there is no way of us finding out what the current interest rate is without calling and waiting on hold. Just wish there was an online account you could see an update statement to show how much you owe, monthly payments, current interest rate etc.
After saving in a fixed ISA for 5 years and 1 month at approx 2%, the early exit penalty is one year's interest any time before this date, with only 2 days' notice before they drop the money into a very poorly-paying account. Why is Newcastle so out of line with other providers? Beware careful savers - it's all in the small print! Oh, and they tell you it's maturing 14 days before the end of the 61 months but you can't do anything until 48 hours before the end of the 61 months!
