Review Time
We ordered 2x 3 seater chunky weave sofas. Ordered on a Saturday excellent delivery options, we were able to have them delivered the following Tuesday. The staff serving at the Maidstone branch were extremely helpful and the 2 guys delivering were also very obliging checking we were happy with the sofas, fitting the legs and removing all packaging. We were able to see when delivery would be arriving and they phoned prior to their previous drop off. I don’t normally leave reviews but this was certainly worth a mention. Just read the reviews for the Next Chunky weave Stamford sofa. We've had the same issue with the room smelling of Garlic/Onions. Absolutely awful. I can smell it as soon as I open the bedroom door in a morning. Contacting Next yet again as we'd only had them a few months & had bobbling issues. Expensive sofas very disappointed.
We purchased a 3 seater next sofa in a chunky weave style fabric back in November 2024 for around £1400. Soon after it was delivered we began to smell garlic/onions in the living room. This has gradually got worse and worse since delivery to the point that nobody wants to sit in this room anymore. Very disappointing from next, we will be returning the sofa soon and buying elsewhere.
I always trusted Next and it was my "go-to" shop but not anymore! I have had nothing but trouble with Next this year and will not shop here anymore. Their systems don't work, the accounts department have messed up twice with my account this year which is very worrying. They also use Evri for deliveries so I need say no more about that!!
We ordered and received two Stamford sofas. Within a few weeks the base cushions started to collapse. The small sofa when used for the first time collapsed into the middle of the two cushions, which made two guests roll against each other. We complained to Next and they sent an assessor who claimed this type of cushion was as it should be. We continued to complain that that is not right and nobody would expect that with such little use. They sent another assessor who agreed that there was no problem even though they were collapsing on the edges (we did regularly turn the cushions but it didn’t improve anything). Therefore Next would not accept that there was a problem. We now have two sofas which are only usable if you’re not concerned about comfort. I’m sure the company’s executives would not accept this quality -or lack of it. It would be interesting to hear other people’s experiences regarding this issue. VERY POOR QUALITY AND SERVICE. Do not buy. We were warned not to buy from Next but were drawn by the style. Have regretted it ever since. Date shown below was 2024 but can’t remember exact date without looking through numerous receipts and I’m furious enough. Hopefully Next will see this! but I doubt they will care. Customer satisfaction means nothing to them. Be aware.
OMG! Worst possible customer service in the world!!! What a nightmare trying to return an item when they forgot to put a return slip in the package. Expensive clothes, no help, rubbish people in the customer service. Really really crappy experience. Also sent back an item several weeks ago, and they claim "they haven't gotten it".. so that's a whol lot of money that I have to pay for nothing. Don't get money back for returned items and also suddenly can't return items. Crappy crappy crappy. Don't buy.
Avoid like the plague, and don’t believe the delivery date they give you. The drivers are woefully understaffed and will refuse delivery for the stupidest of reasons. Your delivery will be a minimum of 3 months late. As of writing this, they have failed to deliver our sofa 3 times. Now they are saying they have lost track of it in their warehouse and cannot give us an update. They have also refused to refund us, and the delivery is now 5 months late. I’m writing this so that others will not have their money stolen, please do not buy furniture through them.
I have two next sofa's that smell like garlic. I googled an seems to be an issue with the foam. I purched at next as hold them in high regard. Nope customer service not the best. My front room continually smells of garlic anyne else had issues
The quality of the side tables I purchased were good how ever delivery was ridiculous. I’d ordered 2 which arrived at different times as they were put through on a different order despite being ordered and paid for together. Not eco friendly I assume! I contacted the courier company and was given a £15 voucher for my inconvenience.
Next sell items for one price then add a new sticker with a higher price. For example my mum bought a lamp and the sticky label said £190 once home I noticed another lable underneath that one and that one said £170. Next customer services said they can legally do that. This is so wrong. No notices to advise of this. I am waiting a call back from trading standards. If u buy something and it has 2 labels on it. I would definitely check. Very underhand move by next
