Review Time
Time to bring the truth on this, bear in mind as I write this review at 4am. I've used omnipod since their very beginning, when it works its fine. The item has a place in health care, not advanced health care but average healthcare. This is the problem with a business model that is stuck in "we made a thing mode". They are not a diabetics best friend, What have they done to advance health care as a giant in the last 20yrs? Insulet Corporation is like any other corpo hoping to survive while clinging to their "Precious" and does this help future you and me? Does this advance healthcare to the next level relative to the world moving so fast with tech, for diabetics and others who use this delivery patch on this planet? This is my perspective in a multipolar world Insulet Corporation brings nothing new to market, fights off challengers with patents litigation defense, all so they can milk you and I like a cow. Insulet corporation has chosen to live in the past just like they will eventually be, Omnipod is a stagnant swamp, they are the 1-trick pony of life. Insulet are not true creators like us, true creators and inovators move fast create daily as desired easily. Insulet Corporation is the rock in the river, it creates interest as we flow by but I am not a rock I am human and for all those who suffer with these diseases that we or our loved ones have remember this "we are the river" and our perspective is greater than any rock or Everest. I encourage challenge to any giants like this because only then can "steel sharpen steel", without you the challenger Omnipod and Insulet are suffered to stagnate, obeying investor wants over the lives they effect, living in fear of a failure by avoiding creative advancements since they ultimately no longer carry the "spark" that makes life memorable or beautiful.
This service has allowed me to manage my diabetes effectively for the first time in 15 years, minimizing its impact on my daily life. My only concern is that it isn't subsidized. Before using this service, I underwent a quadruple bypass and have kidney issues, so a potential reduction in medical expenses could really make this feasible!
The customer service has been very disappointing, especially regarding the device connection issues. The adhesive doesn’t hold well, causing additional problems. My daughter was hospitalized due to the pod failure, and despite wasting two boxes, the support team offered little assistance. This experience has been frustrating, and significant changes are needed in the product's design and adhesive quality.
The customer service is incredibly poor. The connection issues with the device are frustrating, and the adhesive doesn’t stick properly, leading to repeated detachment. My daughter was hospitalized due to insulin not being delivered because of pod failures. We have wasted two boxes and now face hospital bills. I contacted the support team, but they kept putting me on hold without offering any real help. This situation is unacceptable, and the company needs to improve both the product and the adhesive.
I really appreciate the pump; it has significantly improved my life. However, when problems arise, getting help from the company is incredibly challenging. I experienced a long period without connection, despite changing both the pump and sensor multiple times. My blood sugar levels became dangerously high, and I had to buy emergency supplies. The responses from customer service have been frustrating and unhelpful, leading me to feel neglected. It’s disappointing that a product meant for medical needs is treated so casually. I love the pump, but the organization and customer care need a serious overhaul.
I encountered a pod that had a continuous loud alarm. When I called support, it took three attempts to reach someone who could communicate effectively in English. The entire process was a frustrating ordeal, and I decided to stop using the product once my current supplies run out.
I was informed that the product gathers data with each use, but it hasn’t corrected my high blood sugar levels despite administering a pre-meal bolus. My glucose levels have risen significantly, and the device hasn’t responded. I’m hesitant to stop giving boluses, fearing my levels could rise even more. I'm considering returning to manual injections.
If I could give a zero-star rating, I would. I've repeatedly contacted support for help with a malfunctioning device, only to be met with dismissive responses. The suggestion to simply restart the device is not a viable solution when I need insulin urgently. I plan to switch to a different pump as I'm increasingly disappointed with the service.
I'm baffled by the positive reviews as my experience has been quite the opposite. After switching from a previous system, my blood sugar control worsened significantly. I find myself relying on manual injections more often, which defeats the purpose of using the pump. I've invested three years trying to make this work, but I'm going back to injections.
I encountered rude customer service, along with frequent pod failures and communication issues with the sensor. Overall, the experience with this product has been disappointing, and I intend to consult my doctor about switching to a different system.
