I highly recommend not using Outpost. There is a risk that things are not ideal and then you will be completely stuck. Here is my experience:My room is nothing like the pictures advertised. It feels like a crack den. Unfortunately, the rest of the housemates also discovered this too late for their own rooms.They took 2 weeks to decide to relocate me under the condition I clean the room I'm relocating to, then told me I can't relocate because my stay is no longer long enough anymore...My room is also right beside the central AC and is absolutely freezing all the time.There is no window, just a shutter that is on the ceiling that I can't reach (I'm 6'2") and won't move anyways.I was also overcharged $400 by mistake and now I'm 2 weeks trying to get the overcharge back.I wish I could share pictures of how bad the situation I'm in.
Luigi & Ivan are the dream team for maintenance! I had an issue with washing machine, and they showed up the same day to try to fix the problem. Turned out a new part needed to be ordered.. I was expecting at least a week wait time. However, the part was delivered within 4 days and my washing machine was working that day! Thank you for the quick and reliable service.
Their "no-obligation" application process is a sham. Only after a $20 fee and approval can you actually see the room and review the contract, which is fine. But they also require a full month’s deposit upfront, which they say is refundable if you choose not to proceed. Since I hadn’t moved yet, I asked for real photos of the room after being approved. Thank goodness I did! The room looked nothing like the photos online. It had no windows, was extremely small, squeezed between two other rooms, and directly opposite a bathroom.When I decided not to go ahead, they refunded $1,790, even though I had paid $1,842.65. They blamed and sent me to my bank and Stripe. For obvious reasons, both needed the original receipt showing the intended charge amount, not the refund receipt. Outpost's team couldn't understand the difference and refused to give me the original invoice or receipt, which was sitting in their application portal that I no longer had access to. As you can imagine, both the bank and Stripe confirmed that payments are processed exactly as instructed by Outpost as the merchant, with no extra fees, and Outpost are in complete control of the refund amount.The team were completely clueless about their own billing and refund process and just left me without my full deposit in the end. I would strongly advise others — especially those relocating from abroad — to be very cautious, and avoid adding this unnecessary stress to your already tricky moving situation.
I’m very happy with the location. My room is exceptionally spacious, and the property is close to the subway. Nice shared areas of the house as well, and my roommates so far have been lovely. I would definitely recommend this location to others.
