Review Time
I like the bike but I get frustrated over the iFit programming. Too often, they jump to a different trainer/ ride or level [beginner, intermediate, or advanced] without any reason. it's as if they are trying to push me to a different trainer to balance them out with time.
The ProForm bike is useful, functional and dependable. It provides quantitative performance data. The numbers do not lie. If I mail in the effort, the numbers show the truth. The first 40% of my workout is aerobic, followed by strength training. A heart rate monitor compliments the bike data. This provides cardiac data throughout the remaining 60% of the workout.
I purchased my bike in Nov 2023. The bike was good for 4 months and then I started having problems. The belt on the belt drive is rubbing and black shavings are now around underneath the bike. Also the crank shaft make a lot of noise and isn't smooth. I have ridden bikes and have a Giant Defy and an electric bike. This is the worst bike I've ever owned. The help centre are very poor and uninterested in my problem. A very poor bike for £1300.
I purchased a proform 400 spx, computer is cheap, I can’t get the reed near enough to the magnet for it to register anything, wheel is too far from the clamp. Bought this bike new. It’s never worked. I use it without computer. Could have bought cheaper.
Communication: non-existent. You don't learn when your items will be delivered until a shipping company decides to contact you and then you have to take the entire next day off work. Hard to plan. Delivery: they dump the 500 pound pieces of equipment on your driveway and leave. Assembly: really difficult to understand, not user friendly. Had to hire taskrabbit to assemble which cost another few hundred dollars to assemble and about $140 to move into my basement as the items were heavy. I learned that Peloton is worth the price and will not order from this company ever again and wouldn't wish it on my enemy either.
I purchased my bike in June 2023. Within a few weeks, the pedal came off and the bike was unusable. They sent me the parts and I fixed it myself. Soon after, the same thing happened, (followed by two more times), and a tech came out to fix it. It has sat broken down more than I have been able to use it. It is September 9th, and I have been waiting for a part since July 27th. I spend $40 a month on the subscription, as well as the warranty, and this bike sits being broke down. This company and its products are a total ripoff.
In August 2024, I took advantage of a Labor Day sale on fitness equipment. I purchased a ProForm Pro9000 model, and was assured by a sales rep that an update was coming where I could stream Amazon, Netflix and Spotify on the console was coming soon. The treadmill arrived and everything was fine, but I was assured this thing would eventually be able to stream on a handful of platforms, which was a critical factor in choosing this model over others. One month, then two, then three, then FOUR months later, the update rolls out. Mind you, technical support reps told me multiple times during this span that my console was "targeted for the update" and it should run it. Once I FINALLY got the update, somehow my now four month old machine was unable to run the apps. I had a notice stating, "Please note that this generation of fitness equipment does not support streaming services." Seriously? It's a four month old machine that I was assured could run it. So I contacted customer support, since I also purchased the extended warranty for parts and labor. As far as I'm concerned, this machine is not fully functioning as promised. I was assured repeatedly, "we are looking into it." Now after an entire month of back and forth, I still have a machine that can't run the very simple function I was promised it would run. Oh, and the updated app? Yeah, it crashes endlessly. I can't finish a workout when it's active so I had to revert to the older version of the app just to finish a 20 minute walk/jog program. I'll be more than happy to upgrade this review if they would just provide what I was promised by their rep when I bought the machine. Simple as that.
