The 1940s cotton dress with embroidery is my new favorite dress. It is beautifully made and fits like a dream. The cute little mod 60s dress did not fit my body type, unfortunately. (It would be super cute on someone else!) The size charts are very accurate, it just didn't work on my pear shape. When I needed to work out a return, Yomi on the customer service team was incredibly helpful and responsive. Even with our obvious time difference, I never waited more than 24 hours for a response. They have made the whole experience streamlined and pleasant. This is my first time ordering from Retro Stage and it will not be my last! Also, I love the attention to detail; everything was packaged so nicely and even the price tags are adorable! Thank you Retro Stage and Yomi for a wonderful first impression!
Not sure if it’s a bunch of unverified, bots that I have left reviews on this website, but I’m shocked at the amount of positive reviews. For starters the item shipped directly from China and it took a couple weeks to arrive . The clothes is Cheap just note that it’s like something you would’ve ordered from AliExpress for $7. I purchased a green Christmas romper that looked absolutely beautiful on the photo and I got junk . I wouldn’t even wear it for free. If you don’t mind looking cheap, this is a place you will shop. I took my chances because their stuff looks so cute but know it’s not high-quality.
I have now had to request the return of two garments received from Retro Stage. Sadly, the quality of the fabrics and the trimmings is very disappointing for the price. The first dress arrived was poorly finished with raw fabric edges and huge on the bust. The second dress feels like plastic - the trim is thin and cheap looking. I can't fault the service received from Luna, but for the price these garments should be made from better quality fabric. The second package arrived slashed through to the dress and the dress is marked on the front -making it unwearable. It is also huge!! Hopefully this can be resolved in reasonable time. However, the returns process is very clunky. The returns postage is over £20 and they try to charge for a replacement to be sent - or expect payment for a part exchange. I did argue this and was eventually sent a replacement dress free of charge but the system needs tidying up, streamlining and being more upfront about replacement of faulty items.
I’ve ordered a couple times, dresses, shoes, etc. and have always had a good experience, dresses fit comfortably (if a bit small but most of them have some stretch to them). My last order I got a pair of shoes that were a bit too small for me and Yomi from customer service was great! Very flexible, good prices (better when on sales😉) overall, would 100% recomend to others
My original order was unavailable so I was contacted by Yomi and they sent me another selection for the same cost. I received the replacement that was too small. I reached out again to Yomi who immediately responded. I gave her my height and weight as I was surprised the replacement was too small. She appreciated the information and was going to discuss with the design department. Yomi has responded to my emails in a timely and helpful manner that I appreciate. I love the products Retro Stage offers and is easy to contact if an issue occurs.
This was my 1st time purchasing from Retro Stage. Unfortunately the dress I had originally ordered was a bit small in the chest area. Yomi was fantastic in making my exchange process easy, giving me 3 options I could choose from that would best fit my needs/time frame. Always get a bit leery of ordering items on line when not familiar with brand/fitting, but I would not hesitate to order again after experiencing the ease of the return process.
