I encountered the worst support I could imagine. While there are cars available on the Big Island, I was trying to find out how to search specifically for them. The support representative informed me that there are no branches on the Big Island and that the location couldn’t be selected, claiming the only auction yard in Hawaii is in Kapolei. However, if you search using the 96720 ZIP code within a 50-mile radius, you can actually find cars. The representative seemed unaware of this and kept insisting that there are no cars available on the Big Island. Additionally, she erased previous email correspondence, making it difficult to follow the conversation.
The customer support I received was truly disappointing. I inquired about vehicle availability on the Big Island, and the representative claimed there were no options available, despite the fact there are cars listed if you search correctly. It was frustrating to receive inaccurate information, and the representative seemed unaware of the correct search methods. Additionally, the lack of email history made it difficult to track our conversation.
The fees charged are exorbitant, and I expected transparency based on the membership. Unfortunately, the description was misleading; issues like hail damage often indicate deeper problems, such as with the engine or transmission, which was the case for me.
This service feels designed to exploit customers. I have used several other online auction platforms, and none charged fees anywhere near what this one does. They took a deposit that didn’t apply to my transaction, the bid calculator was unavailable, and they retained my deposit despite my issues with their inflated fees. I strongly advise avoiding this platform.
I have participated in many online auctions, but this is the only company I would never use again. I had the highest bid, yet they refused to honor it, claiming a reserve that was not disclosed. You must also make a large deposit just to bid, which you have to request back later. The auction fees are outrageous; a $25 bid ended up costing me over $800 in fees. It's unacceptable.
