Review Time
I initially contacted to make an appointment for someone to come out to place a DP switch (9th feb) which was previously told it was booked for 17th feb, after waiting over 4 hours I contacted them to see where they were to be told it hadn't even been booked by previous rep. The person I recently spoke to was very apologetic and understood my frustration as I had other things booked after 17th to finish off sorting my property. He informed me it should of been explained it takes 2 weeks for bookings to be done but due to it not been booked/accepted I would have to make a new booking completely. He understood I was upset and frustrated as I spent over a hour with previous rep and none of it was told or explained to me, so for the inconvenience they issues me with a £40 compensation as it has set me back with doing up my property by 2 weeks now. I know it cannot be helped the 2 week wait but if it was explained I could of arranged things around later date but because of first rep I've had to wait further 2 weeks now. So previous rep rating 0-1 star but give the last rep I spoke too 5 star 🌟
I have always had a key pay as you go meter in my home for past 27 yrs, I have been with Scottish power for over 10yrs with no problems until they said i had to have a smart meter. The meter started having problems, they changed the meter, then I got a huge bill for more than a thousand pounds, all this time I was still paying my top up pay as you use for my electricity, the huge amount of stress this caused me, someone who has a lot of medical problems , trying to sort out this issue out talking to i don't know how many different people, it was awful. The person who sorted it out from the complaints department, he was very professional and patient with me and after many weeks it was resolved. I do not have any confidence in Scottish power and have changed energy suppliers...
Scottish Power installed smet2 smart meters 2021 in our new build..and they could not get them downloading readings automatically.Another thing being their installer never left an IHD meter either,and everyone on our estate like wise.Now they say its not our problem..we are not a customer!And zero chance we will ever go back to them.Even as a customer years back,we had nothing but issues all the time..avoid them.
I had a Scottish Power representative visit my home on Thursday 12th February 2026. Her name was Priya, and she was trying to get me to switch from my current provider, Octopus Energy, to Scottish Power.
I showed her my Octopus app, including my exact usage, tariff, and monthly payments (£130). She reviewed all the information and told me I was “paying far too much” and that Scottish Power would charge me around £120 per month. She also mentioned a weekend half‑price energy promotion, which made the offer sound even more appealing.
However, after switching, I received an email confirming that my new direct debit would actually be £146, which is higher than what I was paying with Octopus — not lower as promised. This feels completely misleading.
On top of that, the “half‑price weekends” offer was not explained properly. I later found out it only applies between 11am and 4pm, which is a very limited window and not useful for my household, as we are often out during those hours. Had this been made clear, I would not have agreed to switch.
Overall, I feel pressured, misinformed, and very disappointed with the experience. This is not the level of honesty or transparency I expect from an energy provider.

The man made a complaint for me because i had paid my bill in full on the 31st of January and Scottish Power had passed my bill to a debt collector even though the bill had been paid in full, it was not due until the 9th of feburary, and i am in receipt of Universal Credit which i get paid into my account on the 11th of Feb! i always save the money howwver this time ot was £126.00 therefore, i paid in two halves.Still may i add with the pay date, I also have Autism and ADHD, Complex PTSD and other illnesses, so as tou can imagine my anxiety hit the roof and i sid not sleep much at all that night.
I couldn't call Scottish Power that day as it was too late by then, i geel i am being made to feel guilty of something i havent even done. However, the man was very apologetic and i put in a closed complaint, whatever that is! I have been with this company for many yearss although I am rethinking this choice.
I recently spoke to a young gentleman called Jay I had issues a few days prior , I explained the situation and he reassured me that the problem would be sorted he made sure he called back when he said he would and made me feel less anxiety as I was generally struggling at this time due to new baby and bills , he managed to help with a little top up on my meter to get me through till payday . I just want to say thank you Jay from Birmingham call centre for your help you are very much appreciated
I don't use facebook account. Stop asking customer to change meter and stop turning up to property without an appointment and stop giving a false tariff and giving false promises and stop charging overprice and changing the DB at a higher rate, (day light robbery!) and forcing the customers to pay for more. All false promises. Very annoyed.
Firstly, how do we trust the Trustpilot rating? Google Trustpilot for Scottishpower.com and it’s 1.1 and from our experience is far more accurate. How are there two totally different ratings?
How can Scottish Power withhold a substantial refund on a closed account for a 90 year old pensioner in a Care Home? They should be ashamed. They informed us on 29/12/25 that a cheque would be received within 14 days and that ‘No Action was Required’. Customer Service have today confirmed that a cheque has never been issued. We have waited in all afternoon for the promised follow-up telephone call which they haven’t made. Abysmal company to contact and deal with.

Been with Scottish power for 20yrs now great service, I no prices r high just now but every energy company is the same, with my smart metre I can see what I’m useing daily pluss on a good tariff, get half price electricity at wkends from 11am to 4pm get all my washings done n dryed then, pluss get reward every 3mth 🥰
