We purchased a cordless Shark upright - the pet version - about 4 weeks ago and totally unimpressed with it. When used as a small handheld it's ok but trying to use as an upright vacuum is totally under-whelming! It just pushes the dirt around the floor, and when you move the cleaner the dirt is gathered under the head. We were recommended the Shark in the store we purchased from, despite being Dyson users for years. Is now past return terms so will need to use as a car vac and purchase another, more efficient, vacuum for the home.
I’ve got a “Shark DuoClean Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum Cleaner with TruePet NV801UKT“ - as an upright. It’s ok. The capacity in cordless vacuums is laughable compared to the beasts of the past.But as a wand vacuum - it cannot even suck spiders from the walls. Not the big friendly spiders - this was a false widow looking spider.Basically I had to let the spider fall down the vacuum hose, as the suction was not strong enough to pull the spider away from the wall.
Extremely good vacuums let down by out of stock replacement parts that take almost a year to get stock of.Customer service is far from Dyson and needs a lot of work to improve.They also remove reviews from their website that give any constructive criticism about the product.They can do better, considering they have had nearly a grand from me in the past 5 years.
I can't even express my hatred for this vaccum. Anti hair-wrap is absolutely pointless, it doesn't work. It is shocking, I spend more time unwrapping and pulling hair out of the vacuum than I do actually vacuuming.We have a German Shepherd so we bought the pet one, I have to now sweep all my floors and then vacuum or it gets blocked with one use. It is very expensive, otherwise I would of thrown it away, but can't afford to replace it right now. If you get any dust, dirt or hair on your floors I would avoid, I think this vaccum might be OK for someone who does not move or live. I vaccum every single day, I couldn't even imagine what people who vaccum every couple of days or weekly would even do. Avoid!!
After much research we finally decided on a Shark Cordless vacuum model number IZ300UKTDB.Ordering was painless delivery was on time assembly was easy all in all everything you could ask for. . . . . Three months in and now I am stuck with a vacuum that doesnt vacuum nothing gets picked up despite all the troubleshooters and filters first cleaned then replaced. There is just not enough suction generated by the power unit to suck up the dust and dirt out of the pipes.Due to the age of the machine I contacted Shark direct as this is still under warranty. Two weeks on and aside from the acknowledgement email of my issue not a word. I have chased and still nothing.All in all a very poor experience with both the vacuum and the total lack of customer support .My advise . . if your paying this much money stick with a Dyson at least if that breaks they are bothered about their aftersales and will sort issues out for you
Started off great for a few months then, had to keep picking the hair out from the anti wrap roller thingy as it would stop rotating because it cannot cope. Also it started spitting dirt out and just moving it about, constantly unwrapping hair from the roller and the brush. The tube got blocked and I had to take it to a local shop to unblock. And now the extra boost button can't cope with being operated more than a couple of seconds as it.completely cuts the power out. It's poor on carpets although there's a carpet select button.. I have to go over again either with rubber or my old morph Richard's vacuum. Absolute waste of time and money.
Bought on the recommendation of my daughter the shark has performed very well, and the car detailing kit provided in the deal is very useful.Only note of caution is if you use the boost option it sucks the battery power, but all in all a good purchase and far better than the Gtech we had though to be fair that was 4 years old.
