Well… where do I start. The show was meant to begin at 7:30pm, but didn’t actually start until 8:35pm — over an hour standing around in the freezing cold with kids. Not a great start. The fairground felt really overpriced and poorly organised. £5 for Hook-a-Duck is just ridiculous, and there were no clear prices displayed for most of the rides, which honestly made it feel a bit like a money grab.Food-wise, there was plenty of choice, but again very overpriced. We didn’t even bother. Also, only one place selling hot drinks… on a freezing night?! Come on.The Taylor Swift tribute act was… painful. Completely out of tune and really not enjoyable to listen to at all. Now, the actual drone show — visually, it was good to watch, I’ll give them that. But the storyline they tried to create with it just didn’t land at all. It felt a bit random and didn’t really keep you engaged. In fact, quite a few people started leaving halfway through — and honestly, you could see it just as well from your car with the heating on, which says it all really.Overall, disappointing for the price and the hype. Definitely wouldn’t go again.
The space safari was really well put together, the narration along side and the transition from one display to the next. A great family friendly event. The only thing in my opinion that let the event down were the tribute acts and poor parking management.
Went to the Lincoln show and was very disappointed:-Unable to see the tribute acts and they sounded awful.Long wait for the drone show itself. Expensive food and fair ground rides and stalls. Only one stall selling hot drinks on a very cold night. Most of the kids rides/stalls had no £ charges displayed.Parking for us was good both entering and leaving the site. The weather was a let down but that was out of the control of the organisers.Overall they could have done better considering the price of the entrance tickets and parking.NOT RECOMMENDED...
The actual light show was beautiful. It was a lovely story and the drones were magical. I would love to see it again. However, due to winds, the show went from being “around half an hour after sunset” (when I booked it) to 7.30, then 8.30 (as we were told on the day) and then it didn’t actually start until around 8.45. If I had known if was going to be so late, I wouldn’t have booked it for my 5 year-old, especially the night before the clocks go forward, as it took a long time to leave the showground. There was no opportunity to be reimbursed so we felt trapped into going even though it was so late. There was a nice atmosphere on the showground with some rides and stalls, but we ended up spending a lot on kiddie rides to entertain a child well after bedtime. There were only two stalls selling hot drinks, even though it was a cold March evening in a venue almost everyone had to drive to, and those queues were around 45 minutes long so we gave up. If this were to run again, I would hope to find more hot drinks available and perhaps a wider range of stalls to keep people occupied.
Great family light show with fabulous music …both kids and adults enjoyed every minute. We were a bit worried about the weather but the wind dropped and the show was amazing! I would definitely recommend going to see a show near you … just wrap up warm!
The light show itself was good, however the cost of things inside you needed to remortgage your house, it cost £14 for cold burger & chips, £5 for a hot chocolate and a few pick & mix sweets at £15.80.It looked like the traders use the event organisers card machines who will then take a large percentage of their takings. I have a trade stand for other events so know the score. Not sure I would go again
