Review Time
This was my second visit. This time one of the toilets had clearly not been cleaned and the battery operated lid on the disposal lid wasn’t working so there was used paper on the floor. Neither of the drinks machines were fully working. The surgeon was over two hours late. The surgeon was two hours late the year before. There was not regular feedback from the staff about why we (the patients and accompanying people) were waiting so long.Fortunately, the surgery was completed swiftly and efficiently. However cleaning and repair issues need to be resolved and the possible late arrival of the surgeons flagged up for patients in advance.

You read about the difference cataract surgery makes but it doesn’t prepare you for waking up the following day and experiencing the dramatic change.I had my surgery yesterday at SpaMedica Brighton. All the staff were friendly, supportive and informative. The surgery itself was quick and entirely painless and took about an hour from check in to discharge.This morning I woke up with no pain or discomfort and was able to see the time on my clock without putting on my glasses… the first for many years.
From the first consultation to my cataract surgery on the 29th October I have found the whole experience excellent. All the staff have been very pleasant and the surgeon certainly put me at ease. What a difference it makes to my vision and I now look forward to having the other eye done.
The whole team were polite, friendly, and very reassuring. The procedure was completely painless and over in just 29 minutes. Update - Very little post-op discomfort, and that only lasted for one day. My vision out of that eye is amazing, everything is in focus and nice and bright, and every colour is so vidid. Can't wait to have my other eye done.
