Extremely disappointing experience with Specialized UK.I ordered a mountain bike and received a mountain bike in the expected colour and appearance. It was left unattended outside my house by the courier, visible from the pavement. There was nothing at delivery to suggest it was incorrect, so I assembled it in good faith and put it into storage as it was a Christmas present for my 12 year old son. After delivery, Specialized contacted me claiming they had made a warehouse labelling error and that the bike might be wrong. Instead of arranging a straightforward swap, they repeatedly demanded photos and serial numbers, imposed deadlines, and made references to legal escalation, while failing to respond to clear and reasonable emails proposing collection and replacement.Despite multiple chasers, they stopped responding altogether. As a customer, it was extremely frustrating to be treated as though I was responsible for correcting their internal warehouse error, and even worse to be left without replies after legal threats had already been made. This situation was entirely avoidable with basic customer service and common sense. I would expect far better handling from a premium brand. Update:Following my original review, the situation has deteriorated further.Despite asserting that the bike delivered to me is incorrect due to their own warehouse error, Specialized UK are now refusing to arrange collection of that bike and delivery of the replacement they say was ordered. Instead, they have stopped responding and continue to insist on serial numbers and photographs rather than taking practical steps to resolve the issue. As a result of this refusal to collect and replace the bike, my 12 year old son is now at risk of being left without his Christmas present, entirely due to how this has been handled.
I made the frame purchase with the warranty proceeds from a very well known competitor of Specialized. I can compare the process of purchasing the SL-8 from Specialized to the purchase ordeal of buying from the competitor as night and day. The Tarmac frame arrived in just a few short days, well packed with all the ancillary hardware and components that were supposed to be there. The competitor’s shipment got stuck in some kind of FedEx input loop that the shipping and receiving department of the manufacturer couldn’t seem to straighten out. It took perhaps a week before I finally received the bicycle and it was delivered to a FedEx store location and not my home address. At any rate, I would not hesitate for a second if you have your eye on a Specialized/S-Works product. They are easy to reach, receptive when needed, know all the answers to technical questions and will offer support from your local brick and mortar authorized Specialized bike shop if the need arises. Great experience and outstanding product!
My wife and I both purchased a specialized bike. I purchased the Crossroads and the crank fell off after one month. Took it back to the dealership and they put the crank back on. Next 10 mile ride it became loose. Called the dealership again and they said they might have to order a part and that would take months to get shipped. DO NOT buy specialized. I have a $850 dollar pile of junk in my garage. Left a message for specialized customer service and 3 days later no response.
We bought ebike from Specialized- Como 4.0 2020 for my miss and our child. We were happy just at the begining. Due to a low seat tube location it's hard to fix any canteliver child seat so the other option is to fit the rack. I have spent long time looking for an appropiate one as I thought the alternative option offered from specialized wouldn't fit. After all I gave a try and asked Specialized technical team for support. Best part- I ordered suggested rack that's sold by them and should have fit. Results- width of legs and struts not compatible, no threads in legs as in originally fitted- nothing like designed for this bicycle. So now I am left with rack that I have to send back. I have 2 University degrees, spent 16 years with engineering drawings, and was send back by Specialized technical support (Nathaniel) to their retailer who have no clue how to fix it if it's not designed for this model or will affect warranty. Specialized team- this is not highly advanced task and don't treat people like brainless. Also answer such as you don't have access to technical details- I assume that you don't manufacture them but at least should have access to drawings. Finally, reply that this bicycle hasn't been designed for carrying children. This is robust frame and my miss with a child weight together 55kg. I don't know what would you say to somebody who weights 100kg- any suggestions? To sum up, the bicycle itself is of very good quality but technical support lacks of knowledge and their answers are elusive. If I could I would give minus 5 stars.
I had an issue with one of their small seat packs (a pretty low cost item).I contacted their customer support, and a gentleman called Mark Dennis looked after my case.He answered promptly, has been in contact throughout the whole process and he/Specialized have sorted me out brilliantly - going above and beyond my expectations. This is one of the best customer service dealings I've ever had. Couldn't speak highly enough of them.
I bought brand new specialized sirrus elite at bikeshed, exeter uk. After a ride i found that the chainring is warped and the chain is rubbing against a front deralieur. Went back to shop and had to be persistent to have it looked at. Next day got a message that the chain ring was replaced and my bike is ready to be picked up. After a closer look found that the chainring is still going sideways while pedaling and that the front derailleur was modified to stop rubbing.Contacted the specialized directly as didn't want to deal withe the shop any more but was completely ignored. Payed lots of money for a faulty item and was ignored when asking for help. Highly not recommended.
I bought something and paid the delivery fees. But the package never arrived. The customer service is very not helpful and very rude. I purchased the products on April 23 and now I am still in the process of "proving the the package is lost". It takes them very long to reply one email. I have to file a claim with USPS on my own and they made me wait for the results of the claim and hoping that USPS will pay. Is this even possible? VERY BAD EXPERIENCE. I can never bike.
My wife and I each bought Specialized Vado e-bikes two years ago, i.e., July, 2018. One bike we bought was on the floor at our local bike shop, the other was ordered from Specialized. Specialized told our dealer that the bike would be delivered in one week. After telling our dealer the bike shipped twice, but didnt show up, we finally received the second bike 8 weeks later and bike season in Colorado was about over. One bike has had motor/gear/bearing problems since day one and we've had it in several times for a "tune-up". Finally, it got so bad two weeks ago i took it to our dealer and they looked to Specialized for resolution. I think our dealer is installing a new motor, bearing and gear. Then, i wanted to buy fenders and a rack for my wife's bike. So, i go on Specialized website and search for "Vado fenders and bike rack". Presto, a couple of options come up and i make a purchase. Parts come, i take them to our dealer for installation, turns out neither are compatible with the Vado.I really cannot suggest a Specialized Vado to anyone looking for an e-bike.
I purchased a Specialized Diverge A1 bike in about two and a half years ago (in August 2017). I have to say that I've had more issues with this bike in two years than I've had with all my other bikes in my whole life.In two and a half years, I've had to have replaced:- The front AND back wheels, because they both cracked.- The frond and back brakes.- The chain, because it broke.- The derailleur, because it broke.- The front chainrings, because the chain was skipping. It is still skipping even after changing the chainrings.Guess what... it's not over! I was riding the bike this morning and after I hit the front brake, the brake literally exploded! Parts started flying around. To anyone who is considering to buy a bike, I very strongly advise not to go with Specialized. I will purchase another bike tomorrow and will never touch my Specialized ever again.
