Booked in for ear wax removal at the Boston Branch having been to there Skegness branch and Peterborough branch for this procedure previously. The difference was night and day. I was greeted and didn’t wait long for my appointment. I was asked lot of questions and medical history which was expected but person stated they had bad allergies and was constantly coughing and drinking water. In my past experiences they have a camera and monitor so you can see what’s happening as the procedure progresses. NOT in this branch, it was all done by feel and what she could see with naked eye, I had a ‘funnel’ type device fitted in my ear and then she used her suction wand. I have never experienced pain or discomfort in all my previous visits to both specsavers and other clinics that do this procedure but I can honestly say that I have never experienced pain like it before. I ended up coughing, feeling nauseous and my eyes were streaming as she dug around obviously without sight of what was happening as she needed to stop several times to look into my ears with an otoscope then continued with suction.I will certainly not be using this branch for any further treatments or visits as I had hearing test booked but now cancelled.
Everybody at spec savers are helpful and doing their best. The opticians will always give you time. They are ready to discus and answer whatever question that you may ask . so I recommend whoever wants to get her or his eyes tested they can visit.
Can't fault the optician or the guy who went through glasses with me, but what I cant understand for something that is really important and people cannot go without them, why as a company you dont use Klarna as a service. 540 quid i got quoted for varifocals, thinned down lenses in 2 pairs with one having transitions in them. That's not cheap but I could afford to pay in 3 payments. You have just lost a customer and I bet I'm not the only one
Staff were very helpful, friendly and polite. They had a very difficult customer to cope with when I arrived but they handled the situation extremely well. All parts of the eye testing were done very efficiently and I was informed of the process at every step.
Felt the test was very thorough and everything was extremely well explained, including the scan of my eyes. Lots of time taken, didn’t feel rushed at all either by optometrist, Blair or the dispenser, Jill, who advised and helped me choose frames.
I know it was busy on the day I went for my eye test but apart from waiting an hour from having the first steps of the eye test, when I was seen by the optician, who apologised for the wait, I felt I was being rushed when being checked for my actual eyesight/lens vision. Not impressed.
