Review Time
I found this company online as i needed an urgent repair and was stressed. They made me sign a contract which they sent by email before the plumber could start any work, taking advantage of my stress. But after simply replacing a small part of a pipe (taking 40 minutes in total), they charged £364, which is not justifiable. I asked for an invoice to break down the costs but they refused to provide this. I have called them multiple times but have still not received it. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
Real scammers. They say that a call out charge and the engineer will look and quote. But when engineer arrives, they say he will not look and make a quote unless you agree the payment for time charge of £259. Misleading..they need to be reported to better business bureau and business shut, never allowed to operate here.Really bad and dishonest people operate this business...
The website is deceitful and the telephone operator is not teling the full storyLike many other reviewers I was told callout charge a £79 and a £295 per hour. I thought never mind, this is an emergency.The engineer stayed less than an hour and I had to pay over £500. This is not right.PLEASE FIND AN ALTERNATE SOLUTION. THESE PEOPLE ARE A RIP OFF.
Do not use. They tell you a call out fee on the phone (£79) and then when the plumber arrives they make you sign a contract for £299 for an hour's work. If you don't sign it they'll still charge you for the call out fee. The wording made it seem like it would be half the hourly rate for 30 mins and would be proportionate to the work carried out/or that it would be hourly rate for the repair, not the diagnosis. It's not. Essentially the engineer told us our boiler was broken (obviously we knew that).. and we now have a £453 invoice which they demand payment for before the plumber can leave. Tried to challenge it with no luck and had no choice but to pay. Now trying to work out how we can take this further as it is unreasonable and not proportionate to the services provided.
DO NOT USE. I am shocked by what a total rip off this service is. To be fair to the plumber he was a nice man and knowledgable but to get a very basic pressure issue and valance change on my boiler for just over an hours work cost just under £1000. Their hidden prices are in the fine print before you sign. Daylight robbery! Would not recommend.
Informed them of the problem. A lady from a offshore call centre informed me they'd be 45 mins. 2.5 hours later they arrived. He looked under my sink and told me it would probably just be a quick swap like a dodgy washer. He wouldn't replace it without me agreeing to the quote. I got an email quoting £235 for this...plus the £90 call out charge as it was a Sunday. I think this people are in the business of abusing people in emergencies more than actual plumbing. I paid the call out and asked him to leave. Sleazy business model, avoid these chancers.
Avoid this company. Engineer very good but the company charges way over the top. Check prices before using as they only tell you what the call out charge is. You end up paying over £400 per hour and they add on admin fees VAT so could end up costing over a thousand per hour!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.I have a WORCESTER BOILER. For the first time in 10 years had troubles with the heating and hot water. called SWIFT PLUMBERS AND BOOKED THE ENGINEER. I WAS TOLD CALL-OUT FEE IS £69 AND ENGINEER WILL BE WITH ME WITHIN 30MINS TO ONE HOUR. AFTER 3 HOURS HE ARRIVED AND ASKED FOR MY EMAIL SO, THE OFFICE CAN GET IN TOUCH BEFORE HE START WORKING.I received these details and asked me to confirm the email. I cant believe they didnt mention these details before the engineer arrived.Emergency Call-out Fee: £69Scope of Work: The engineer will investigate the plumbing, boiler, or drainage issue and attempt a repairHourly Rate ( per hour or part of an hour ): £255Administration Fee: 0.15 of the bill (Decimal)Engineer didnt know even how to set Thermostat which is on the wall. He said he has not seen one like. He was not able to get me the heating and hot water. After one hour i received a email asking to pay even the job is not completed.Invoice Total is £458.78.i got in touch with the customer service and refused to pay the full amount as job was not completed. Then they send me a reduced rate after refusing to pay.Total £235.80.I still have no heating or hot water and asked the engineer who installed the boiler to get in touch first thing Monday morning. I will soon find out what damage Swift Engineer has done as the boiler and the hot water has stopped working.I now wish i read the reviews before booking with SWIFT Plumbing. I was mugged and lost money. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
TRICK PEOPLE in paying more!!if I could rate -10 stars, I would...I understand it's an emergency service and the price is higher, but the guy took his sweet time (went to the van a couple of times 'searching for tools', used the bathroom and was overall quite slow) so in the end I had to pay for 2 hour job.Also the call-out fee was suddenly higher than the one agreed on, so I had to chase customer services.highly, highly unfair!! taking the absolute piss
