Requested a plumber to come out to unblock a toilet. They sent out a heating and ventilation engineer, despite knowing the toilet needed fixing, I even explained the specific issue as it is an ongoing problem with the property I am renting. They sent 2 invoices within 5 minutes of each other at different prices. The issue was not fixed... because what is a heating engineer meant to do with a blocked toilet?I was left with flooding and a still blocked toilet after the engineer used what little he had in his van to try to fix the problem.I called another plumber the next day who fixed the issue in under 10 minutes. They are asking for £235 for sending out the wrong contractor and for flooding my bathroom with poo!
Called Swift Plumbers in haste to fix a faulty boiler, fortunately it came back to life and I cancelled the call out 30mins later. (I thought it odd it sounded like it linked to an oversees call when making the initial call)They demanded call out payment, which i was initially acceptance of. I received an invoice by text from a different company WE FIX 24 Ltd demanding immediate payment. This was followed up two days later with a brunt phone call demanding payment and to send me a payment link. This raised suspicion. They have since harassed continuously for payment. This is why I am refusing to pay. From scrutinising the website it is not, in fact local to me. The website is a sham front for a scam.Swift Plumbers is not a registered company, it does not exist at the purported registered address of 7 Bell Yard, London, WC2A 2JR.The pictures used on the website is actually a generic VW van from a mock up site where you can add your own livery onto a stock image. It does not exist.Swift Plumber is not registered to Gas Safe despite it purporting to be and displaying the symbol on the website, representing fraudulent misstatement which would frustrate a contract. They have falsified their trustpilot review score, again fraudulent misstatementWE FIX 24 Ltd is registered to a house in Luton, its VAT reg is however registered to a one bed flat in London 173D Armitage Road.WE FIX 24 Ltd is also not Gas Safe registered. The sort code on the invoice goes to an international money transfer, not a UK bank. The details of the engineer were abbreviated but Gas Safe is investigating from the information provided. This is the same type of emergency plumber extorsion racket that has led to at least two criminal prosecutions and custodial sentences. So there is precedent that is reaches the legal threshold of it being a criminal enterprise.I have reported it to Action Fraud, Gas Safe, Companies House and the Police. It is an illegal racket being run by an Armarjeet Singh of 20 Wordsworth Road Luton. It is evident they are trying to suppress the one star reviews by peppering Trustpilot with falsified and laughable 5 star reviews. Please report this to the relevant bodies, enough people do we can hopefully see this individual prosecuted.
0 is the correct rating ! Scammed my 95 year old mother!! Installed a shower NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.Have asked for £607.50 backShall report them ..cheeky answers when I complained. The only shower that can take installation on a tank is Triton S80 I found it out myself!Rude and they demand payment before they leave. All the points mentioned in the negative reviews were experienced by us.They are scammers! The shower never worked!
I urge you to think twice before using this plumbing service. While the initial charge for an emergency call-out may seem reasonable at £60, the tactics they employ to extract more money from you are downright unscrupulous. Their hourly rate exceeds £300 (excluding VAT), and they insist on charging for a full hour of work, even if the job takes only a fraction of that time. It feels like daylight robbery, especially considering how much higher their rates are compared to the average in London.Read the Fine Print: I regret not checking reviews before calling them—when an emergency strikes, it’s hard to think clearly, and they exploit that vulnerability.Deceptive Communication: Once the engineer arrives, you'll receive an email detailing the rates and terms. Don’t be misled; the quoted price does not include VAT, and you’re still billed for a full hour just to diagnose the issue.Invoice Shock: After the work is done, you’ll receive an invoice that may not even be accurate (I found discrepancies in mine). The engineer will not leave until you pay, leaving you with a bill that could range from £500 to £1,000—making you feel utterly swindled.Final Caution: Avoid the temptation to just Google "emergency plumber" and choose the first option. If I had taken a moment to think and gather information, I could have saved myself a significant amount of money.Take my advice: steer clear of this service. You’ll thank yourself later.
Hideously expensive and less than sufficient service. We got done! Had a blocked sink / leaking pipe, knew we couldn't do it ourselves but that it would be a cheap, fast and simple job. Plumber arrived an hour and half late, after being told he would be arriving in 45 minutes. He was mostly on the phone to his mother, which was unprofessional and he tried to take a call outside the house which would've continued on our clock had I not come outside. The intimidation technique ie. waiting in your house until you've paid the invoice and shown them confirmation of payment isn't great at all. An invoice should always have a notice to be paid, it is never immediate. Had I not had to pay there and then I would have questioned the use of: 1. 'materials' (£27.50, there were no materials used that didn't include standard plumbing equipment) 2. The extortionate rate of £269 an hour3. The even more hideous 'admin fee' being more than the above numbers COMBINED. not including the call out fee of £60 There were also a few stains left on our metal sink due to the strong chemicals he used to flush out the pipes, AND, the u-bend wasn't tightened enough so even after he left we still had a leaking sink. Overall we were charged nearly £500 for a job that should've been £100-£200. It was quite the shock and we weren't in a financial situation to afford this as I'm sure most people aren't.
My nephew was hanging a picture and accidentally drilled into a pipe, causing a huge mess. Called this company and they dispatched the plumber Henry and he came to my rescue. He was very professional and knowledgeable, and was able to fix the pipe and clean up the mess in no time. I am very grateful for his prompt and efficient service, and would definitely recommend him to anyone in need of a reliable plumber
