I called for an emergency electrician as my fuse box had a trip and I was alone for the weekend and worried what it was. £1000 later which has to be paid before he went I was still no wiser. They did not at anytime tell me what the charges were. £123 admin plus £697 to not find a problem and VAT He did not resolve the problem and did a lot of unnecessary checking to switches etc I had online: months before had fitted professionally. He scared me telling me my 10 year old house was unsafe. He stayed for 2 hours - found no fault and when I questioned the invoice he got really aggressive. I have reported them to Trading Standards and directly. The problem is resolved now by a proper professional - oven thermostat !!!!
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!This company should be illegal. Charged £810.06 for unblocking a toilet. They charge £69 emergency call out, £259 per hour and and 15% admin fee plus VAT. We used this company for a vulnerable individual in an emergency. The plumber apparently arrived at 1.55pm (we were not on site) and the agreement was conveniently not sent through to me until 2.21pm in order for the plumber to start the actual work. The contract was signed at 2.25pm and the plumber started work at approx 2.30pm. The invoice was sent at 3.02pm. The company charged me for the waiting time of them sending through an agreement before their plumber could start work and charged me 2hrs. If you go 1 min. over the hour. they will charge you another full hour. The managers explanation of having the option to charge per half a hour at the same rate as an hour at their discretion was also absolutely ludicrous. Additionally, whilst on site the client asked for help to crack open a locked combination medication safe. The plumber happily went about opening it despite it being outside the scope of his work. Worrying that he could do this! In the end, I was forced to pay this bill as the plumber would not leave the property of our client until the payment had been made. This company has zero integrity and you should avoid like the plague!!!!
I would strongly advise against using Swift Plumber. I was charged £850 for what turned out to be less than an hour of work to fix a boiler issue — work that not only failed to properly address the problem but introduced new, potentially dangerous faults. Since the so-called repair, my electricity bill tripled, the boiler started making a loud squealing noise, and the fuse switch began overheating.I raised these concerns immediately, but despite multiple follow-ups, I was ignored. Weeks later, they remain completely unaccountable and now want to charge me again to fix what appears to be the result of their own shoddy work and a misdiagnosed fault.Appalling service, zero responsibility, and no aftercare. Avoid at all costs. Have escalated to the ombudsman.
The worst company ever. Charged me £850 for 1.5hrs worth of work on a boiler leak that required several washers to fix. I had additional issue with temperature in bathroom and before seeing to it or running anymore tests, left. I complained and asked they come back to fix the issue and after agreeing to it, essentially ghosted me for weeks claiming their plumber was on holiday. Honestly the worst people and the worst company. This is not how you do business and the company is destined for failure if you continue to scam people over the going rate for plumbing work.
I recently had the pleasure of using Swift Electricians to resolve an issue with a breaker that wouldn't stay on, resulting in a loss of power to my flat. Within less than an hour of contacting them, an engineer arrived and immediately began working on the problem. The issue was resolved in just a few minutes, and I was fully restored with power.The customer service I received was exemplary, with the office staff remaining professional, polite, and reassuring throughout the process. Despite my initial panic, they reassured me that the engineer would quickly resolve the issue, which was indeed the case.I would confidently give Swift Electricians a 10-star rating if possible and highly recommend their services to anyone in need of reliable and efficient electrical work.
If I could have chosen no stars I would have done. This company scams people's hard earned money, do not fix the issue and charges a fortune for the privilege.....they also stand over you in an intimidating manner when you query the fees and do not leave your home until payment is made. I had a slow leak under my kitchen sink......the operative was at my home for 15 minutes and diagnosed a faulty washer which he replaced.....whole experience cost me £380.....he then left and 4 days later I noticed the slow leak back in exactly the same spot. I called them and they refused to return unless I paid the call out fee plus charges for fixing.....as it wasn't leaking when he had left.......and he had video evidence to prove that on his phone. Very rude company, very intimidating people......upshot of this debacle is I called another company who came round.....spotted the issue and replaced the part......he showed me the washers and they were nothing like the one the chap had probably pulled out of his own pocket......60 quid later all done and hasn't leaked since. Swift Plumbing steer well clear, they are shockingly appalling and will definitely rip you off
Many of the other views echo our experience also. Avoid the rip off! Our heating and hot water stopped running on a Sunday. We had managed to used the boilers I build tests to diagnose the issue was the pumps. My partner called I the hope they would be able to replace the pump, which was fairly readily available.Took hours for someone to arrive, despite being promised someone would be there within 2 hours. He confirmed our diagnosis, but said he couldn’t replace the pump until he had a quote for parts. He promised that would be done the next day. £500 for the privilege of confirming what we already knew.So we were left overnight without hearing. The next day we heard nothing…. Until we chased up multiple times. The first quote was wrong (we knew the approx pump cost), so questioned it and were sent another. We were then also told the parts would be 3-4 days. Plus the quote for repair was basically the same as the Sunday call out again, plus £400 of parts.Some quick googling told us the pump was available from at least 3 reputable retailers overnight, and I then found one in stock in City Plumbing St Albans which I ordered and picked up that afternoon. With the help of some YouTube, we fitted the replacement pump (4 screws) and had our regular plumber do a full service and check (at a small fraction of the cost of these rip off merchants) Avoid - especially if it’s the weekend, they likely won’t be able to help you anyway!
Save your money and book a plumber directly. Swift plumber will find a plumber for you, contracting out another plumbing company and charge you a lot more than if you contacted them directly.Expect minimum prices of £400 (at time of writing) for one hour.
