Review Time
First order with the company took weeks to arrive while they blamed the couriers and the couriers denied receiving it. Half the order finally turned up and I had to chase them for the remaining items which arrived a week later and were still missing an item. I’ve given up chasing them now and won’t be buying from them again.
Tackle tavern completely ignore customers. My order has not been received they claimed it was delivered, the Courier lied stating I signed for the item when I wasn't even there, then aoparently the parcel was left on my doorstep, then 5 weeks later the courier has sent me an email stating the parcel is on its way. I tried to take this up with with Tackle Tavern who have pretty much told me to take it up with the Courier, and are completely ignoring me since. It appears I am not the first customer that has gone through this, I have already spoken to one who left a similar review on Facebook and another who left a similar review on here. If you look up their reviews you will see for yourself this happens often and what they do in these circumstances is completely ignore and do not do anything about it. You will also see in all of these circumstances they never even respond to the review either. All the while making subtle insinuations that the parcel is in my possession. They keep the money you don't get your item but are expected to swallow it. They have now not responded to me for nearly a month but when I put the tracking on the the email I sent them they opened it within 15 minutes. I wish I had read all of the negative reviews before I placed an order with them, you have been warned!
Just a quick heads-up. Like most of us, I like to support local Isle of Wight businesses and will continue to do so. However, sometimes I need something not available on the island and a few days ago that was the case. My beloved JRC X-LO chair had given me 15 years of constant and outstanding comfort and service in a tiny, lightweight package but finally went to fishing chair heaven. It had since gone out of production but a few companies still advertised as having a few in stock. After being let down by a couple who didn't actually have one in stock after taking my cash and failing to inform me, I finally came across "The Tackle Tavern".The guys there were incredibly helpful, knew their stock and couldn't have been more friendly or professional which resulted in my replacement X-LO arriving the next day, as promised. If you're able to order from a local company, please do so. If not, I'd highly recommend The Tackle Tavern. They'll certainly get my off-island custom in the future.
Awesome first buying experience, I needed a jacket for the coming weekend and the one that had all the features I wanted was out of stock : ( No problem! Matty from tackletavern called the manufacturer, put in an order that day!As luck and the CarpGods would have it, they actually received an order of one jacket that day, that was the exact size and style I had requested. Matty remembered my call and personally arranged for the item to get uploaded to their site, so that I could order it from there, which took 10 minutes from receipt of the jacket!I am sure Matty moved even more wheels behind the scenes, the order was packed, processed and shipped 24hr the next day, so it will arrive for my trip, I cant thank him enough AND....Not only that but the item was 15% cheaper than elsewhere, with FREE next day postage and Matty even checked in on me the next day to thank me for my order. Have no hesitation, these guys go above and beyond at a great price, I couldn't find cheaper elsewhere, not even auction sites, they do it without cutting back on customer service, these guys deserve your business!
I’ve used the Tackle Tavern a few times now and could never fault them especially Matty. The customer service has always been top notch and I couldn’t fault them them in the slightest.Highly recommend Matty as he will always respond night or day - 10/10.
