Review Time
I signed up for a free trial as I want to see what’s good in the website. They failed to send me a reminder email that my trial is expiring, so as a result I was not able to cancel my free trial and got charged 6300 php! I reached out to their support and wow oh wow!! They won’t give a refund, such a scam taking people money instead of helping them! Their customer support is such a bad experience. It’s their failure to send an email to remind customers about their trial so that they can charge them money.
Udemy has a massive library of courses on just about any topic you can imagine, and some of them are genuinely great. That said, it’s a bit of a mixed bag, so take your time to read the reviews and course outlines to make sure you’re getting quality content. Also, a word of advice—never pay full price. They run sales so often that the "original price" feels more like a suggestion. If you time it right, you can snag a $200 course for $15, which is really where the value lies. Overall, it’s a decent platform if you do your homework and wait for the right deal.
I purchased over $4,500 in courses with the promise that I would always have access to them. They have all disappeared. No customer service. I have reported them to the FTC for wire fraud.ftc logoWe Have Your Report!Report number: 187477603Thank you for filing a report with the Federal Trade Commission and helping to fight fraud in your community. The FTC does not resolve individual reports, but your report will be entered in the FTC's Consumer Sentinel database and will be available to federal, state, and local law enforcement across the country.Your Next StepsIf you paid a scammer using a payment app or service:If the app is linked to a credit or debit card, contact that company or bank first. I purchased Master Microsoft Word Beginner to Advanced (life access) 4 years ago and never got around to using it. Finally, I have time and even though I have been using Word since it was invented, I have been learning so much about all the things it can do. The instructor is very easy to understand. As I am not a beginner, I was able to put the speed of the instructor into double when he was talking about things I already knew, which saved me time.
➡️ Be careful what you buy. Your “lifetime access” on Udemy is anything but guaranteed — your courses can disappear at any moment, and Udemy will wash their hands of it without giving you a single cent back. For me, this is a serious loss of trust in the brand. The way they treat paying customers after the purchase is completely unacceptable. Think twice before spending your money there.
I used Udemy for YEARS, and had an old account with like HUNDREDS maybe THOUSANDS of dollars in courses on it, and I hadn’t completed them all yet.So I try to go back to my old account to see my courses, and I can’t get into my account, not because I don’t know my old email and password (because I do), but because they took it upon themselves to add MFA to my account without my consent. So now I can’t login with my email and password, now I have to use a code they sent to my email to login. But I can’t get into that email, because it’s trying to send a code to a phone I no longer have! (I hate these companies…)So I told them what happened, I know my email and password, but they won’t let me access my account without proof of purchase (bank statements, card numbers, etc) - but like I said, this is an old account, I bought all this stuff years ago, and these cards have long expired and the information is gone.So I know my email and password to login, but they changed my settings without my consent, and they won’t give me back access without me giving them info I no longer have. I’ll never spend a single penny on them ever again, and I’ll never recommend them to anyone else ever again. I’m glad to see they have a 1.9 rating. I hope they collapse.
I just bought a course yesterday, after less than 7 lectures I realized I couldn't move on. Clicked on the "request refund" button and a message apperead saying I couldn't get my money back. Their service just got worse and worse. Please avoid this place.
