Travelled from Dery to Belfast (5+ hours round trip) for a hair transplant eligibility consultation, a journey that required booking a day off work, paying for return train tickets, and having my hair system professionally removed and cleaned in preparation for the appointment.

I received multiple text messages in the days prior asking me to confirm my attendance, which I did. I arrived in Belfast 40 minutes before my scheduled appointment time, only to receive a phone call cancelling it on the spot.

No prior warning. No attempt to contact me before I had already made the journey. Just a call when I was already there.

The time, cost, and inconvenience involved in this trip was significant, and the complete lack of consideration shown, particularly after actively seeking confirmation of my attendance, is unacceptable. I would strongly urge anyone considering booking with this clinic to think carefully, especially if travelling any distance to do so.

They have offered to expense my train ticket, but the wasting of my time and day off work is much more important to me.

Exemplary Service!

Extremely happy! My journey with UK Hair Transplant Clinics began when I emailed photos of my scalp to the team in September 2025. Within days I was set up on a video consultation with Paul who expertly filled me in on all the information I might need before proceeding. From here I was scheduled an in-person consultation in Leeds for October 2025 where I had my head checked for hair density, more of my questions answered, and booked in for a surgery date 5 months down the line in Manchester. It was also recommended that I start taking oral finasteride from this date and to continue taking it indefinitely to ensure the best results - however I had already started taking it before the recommendation and have continued to take it since. An important note here for anyone considering a hair transplant is that you should be prepared to take finasteride daily indefinitely. After this consultation I had regular contact from Chelsea who was always very helpful in answering questions and providing me with all the info I could possibly need leading up to the surgery. In March 2026 I spent the night prior to my surgery in a hotel less than 2 minutes walk from the clinic to ensure I got as much sleep as possible before arriving. At 8am I was greeted at the reception and after a short wait I was taken through to meet my surgeon - Dr Elgindi.Dr Elgindi provided a very relaxed atmosphere for my FUT procedure and I was immediately calmed by his presence. Any anxieties or worries I felt were quickly put to rest as he answered my final questions and began to draw the guide line on my head. Once we were both happy with the guide lines he had drawn, the donor area on the back of my head was shaved - I should note I had relatively long hair and both Dr Elgindi and his assistant Mihai did a great job at minimising the amount of hair shaved around the donor area. From here I entered the surgery room where I was laid face down and given anaesthetic injections to the back of my head. The pain of the injections was only about a 2/10 and this was the most painful part of the procedure by FAR. The back of my head was cut open to remove my donor hairs, then I was stitched back up and given around 30 - 45 minutes to rest, eat etc before the main surgery began. On returning to the surgery room I was injected with more anaesthetic - this time at the front of my head. The first hour involved Dr Elgindi making lots of tiny incisions in my graft area to prepare the other doctors for the graft insertion. Then it was time for lunch. Everybody took a 30 minute break, I was bandaged up and given time to eat and a chance to pick from a selection of DVDs to watch for the remainder of the afternoon. I picked Shawshank, a classic!Returning to the surgery room I was made comfortable and the film was put on for me. I was told that if I needed to get up to stretch or use the toilet at any point then this is fine as long as I communicate it before trying to move. I was offered a blanket too. Very relaxed atmosphere. I knew I was in safe hands. Over the next 4 hours I had around 3000 grafts inserted by multiple technicians who took turns to avoid getting tired and making mistakes. This was a nice touch. We all chatted and listened to music during the final hour of the surgery after the film had ended. Honestly I didn't feel a thing! It was actually so relaxing I could have fallen asleep. The technicians all did a brilliant job at maintaining a brilliant atmosphere whilst skillfully and professionally implanting my grafts. The technicians I believe I spent the afternoon with were Steph, Ali, Judith and Alicia. At the end of the day I was given a medical kit with all of the supplies and information needed to care for my head for 2 weeks following the transplant. I left feeling confident.I am writing this at exactly 2 weeks post-op and I'm happy to report my donor area and graft area have both healed remarkably well. This is partly due to me following the daily care instructions diligently, a very important part of the process. I had very minimal swelling on my forehead for less than 2 days towards the end of the first week. I have had no pain, no itching, none of the grafts have fallen out, minimal scabbing, no bleeding. It's taken me by surprise just how easy the whole thing has been from start to finish. And I have still been receiving regular contact from Chelsea to ensure I'm looking after my head properly. All in all this has been a 10/10 experience and I am excited to see the full results in the future. Dr Elgindi, Chelsea and all others mentioned above did an exemplary job. I can not recommend this clinic enough!- Chris

Outstanding clinic, surgeon, and team

I honestly can’t recommend this clinic highly enough. From the very first consultation through to post-procedure care and later touch-ups, the level of professionalism, skill, and attention to detail — and the care taken to ensure the best possible outcome — have been exceptional. The surgeon is genuinely world-class — meticulous, thoughtful, and clearly committed to producing natural, age-appropriate results. The hairline design is superb and incredibly natural, which speaks volumes about their experience and judgement. The wider team are just as impressive: calm, reassuring, friendly, and highly experienced. You feel completely looked after at every stage, with clear explanations, honest advice, and excellent aftercare support. Nothing feels rushed, and every question is taken seriously. These guys are operating at an elite level. If you’re considering a hair transplant and want results that look natural, well planned, and built to age properly, this is the place to go. I’m genuinely grateful to the whole team.A special shout-out to Dr Elgindi.

Honest, ethical advice – no false promises

I had a consultation with Hair UK -Paul-and was told very clearly that I am not a suitable candidate for a hair transplant. While that’s never what anyone hopes to hear, I genuinely valued the honesty, integrity and professionalism of the advice I was given. There were no false promises, no pressure, and no attempt to sell me something inappropriate. Instead, everything was explained in a way that allowed me to make a genuinely informed decision about my options. I was given recommendations, and while I don’t yet know whether they will work, I’ve decided to try them knowing the reasoning behind them and the limitations. This experience was in stark contrast to a previous clinic I attended in Guildford, where I spent around £2,000 on shampoos, medication and light treatment. At the time, I trusted that approach, but Hair UK explained why those treatments were never likely to work for my situation — something I wish I had been told from the start. For me, Hair UK stood out because they prioritised ethical practice over sales, and that builds trust. Even when the answer isn’t what you want to hear, I would much rather receive honest, evidence-based advice than be sold hope that doesn’t deliver.I would recommend Hair UK to anyone who wants straightforward, transparent guidance and the information needed to make an informed choice.

Great experience throughout

UK Hair have been really fantastic, from my first point of contact, where I received an initial video call review to determine my suitability, to the two face to face consultations I had with them over the past two years, at their local clinic in Southampton, which was super convenient to me. There I received a refreshingly realistic insight into how many grafts I would ideally need to achieve the coverage that I wanted, without the overselling that I appreciate can occur in this industry. This convinced me I had chosen wisely, but I had a few decisions to make regarding timing of my procedure, which meant delaying it a year beyond my original plan. At no point was this an issue for UK Hair and apart from the very occasional follow up call, they left me to get back to them. This no pressure approach was very welcome. Chelsea is my Patient Coordinator and she does a great job of keeping in touch to keep me informed on next steps. Once my surgery appointment had been booked on my chosen date and location of London, I was advised it would be with Dr Manish Mittal and I couldn’t have been happier. The Team at Dr Mani’s beautiful London Clinic, led by himself and Dr Khaula, are all wonderfully friendly and compassionate, exuding professionalism and dedication to providing their Patients with the most comfortable and special experience possible. Dr Mani has a refreshingly realistic approach that provides the best and above all the safest outcome for you on the day. The procedure was as painless as it could have been and the day although long, didn’t feel like it, going as smoothly as I could have hoped.I’m just over one week post-op now and using the after care kit kindly provided, being supported by Dr Khaula, Dr Mani and Chelsea at UK Hair, who is keeping a check on my progress. I’m following the instructions meticulously, to ensure the best chances of success. I’m so excited and very much looking forward to the results to come.

UK Hair Transplant Clinics is registered and regulated with the Government’s “Care Quality Commission” (CQC). The CQC’s role is to ensure that the hair transplant clinic providing the treatment meets the required standards and is performed in a safe environment.

Not only are you protected by the fact that we are clinically governed but also because we offer a unique treatment guarantee. We are one of the only clinics in the UK that offers and upholds a guarantee on every hair transplant. We are able to do this as we are selective on those we think are suitable candidates for surgery. From the thousands of consultations we have done over the years only 40% of them are suitable for surgery as in our opinion suitable means being able to achieve a great result.

If we deem you are unsuitable for hair transplant, this doesn’t mean there is nothing we can do for you, we have a wide range of non-surgical solutions we can offer. If you are just starting to thin we can offer products to lower the chance of you losing anymore or if you have receded to a Norwood 7 there’s alternative ways to create coverage.
