I own an 8 year old Vinotemp VT-27 TS. 27 bottle wine cellar cooler. I have contacted their service department 3 times in the last few days. They answered the phone with in a minute all 3 times. VERY IMPRESSIVE.I was going to sell this unit for 4 reasons, the light did not work, could not change from Celcius to Fahrenheit, could not change the temperature and lastly the unit was uneven. ALL OF THESE ISSUES WERE USER ERROR. Several issues had to do with unlocking the unit lock/unlock keys to make changes.Vino temp service was very kind and professional. All issues have been resolved. I am keeping the unit and returning the new competitive brand which I purchased yesterday.Thank you Vinotemp service!!!
I ordered a vinotemp beverage and wine cooler directly from Vinotemp.com. The refrigerator was delivered and was not inspected because it was not going to be immediately installed and there was only minor dents on the outside cardboard box. Once opened it was found that the inside doors were damaged beyond use. I sent photos and placed many emails and phone calls to Jasmine, Maryann, and Richard to no avail. The conclusion was that Vinotemp has a third party box and ship. It was damaged during this process. Unless you open and make certain it is operational vinotemp will not take any accountability. Read the 9 page contract you sign and initial very carefully. I would never purchase from this company again. It was by far the most unreputable company I have dealt with in my 2 remodeling projects.
I have had the insulated Vinotemp cooler for approximately 45 days. So far it's operating fine and keeping the wine at 55 degrees in the summer heat. I purchased via Costco and the unit was delivered promptly. Although the cooler was packaged nicely (on a crate), it did arrived with a small dent on the side (purely cosmetic). When I contacted Vinotemp, they immediately said, "not our problem, you will need to contact Costco". I was somewhat disappointed that there wouldn't be better coordination with a claim like this. I decided it wasn't worth pursing further and moved on. You will need at least two people to take the cooler off the crate and put in place since the Vinotemp instructions clearly state you can't push the unit and it must be lifted into place. Additionally, plan on stacking your wine "strategically" in the cooler if you want to store close the the 300 bottle capacity. Personally, I think 200-250 is a more reasonable number of bottles to store or else you will be taking several bottles out as you hunt for a bottle at the bottom of the pile! Overall, this is a nice cooler. Be sure to set your expectations accordingly on set-up and storage capacity.
After 8 years of faithful service my Vinotemp gave out. I ordered another which was promptly shipped to my home. In the meantime I have been texting with Jared for guidance in troubleshooting and repairing the old one. He has been fantastic with his prompt emails and excellent technical advice. Later this week I will have time to execute his algorithms and hopefully fix it!
The cooler works pretty much as advertised. Temperature appears to be fairly uniform and the case doesn't run hot like some reviews indicate. Noise is there, but not excessive. It looks OK. However, I wish I had bought a different cooler. I thought I would like the orientation of the bottles, making them easier to identify through the window. But that makes accessing the bottles in the rear very awkward to the point of being dangerous. The top shelf in mine dangled awkwardly when pulled out, risking the bottle on the right side falling out. I swapped the top 2 shelves and that problem seemed to be resolved, although there was no discernable difference between the racks or the cheap plastic supports they slide on. The short rack near the bottom is not very useful. I looks like the others, but it doesn't have a stop like the others to prevent it from falling out when extended. I wouldn't risk putting a bottle at the back of that rack. The storage area at the bottom also seems good, but again access to the rear is clumsy. Rear bottle access really limits the useful capacity. The light seems like a good idea, but it is worthless for anything more than a nightlight. I don't use it. For the money, I expected actual full extension slides that allow access to bottles in the back. A more useful light would be nice. This cooler replaced a Vinotemp that died after 10 years. It had great roller bearing slides that fully extended. I wish I had researched the new one better.
